Registration has been completed and the roster is set for the 2024 PrepHoops Oregon Expo, which will take place on Sunday, September 22 at the Beaverton Hoop YMCA. As always, the talent level in the gym will be high and college coaches from the NCAA D-II, NCAA D-III, NAIA, and junior college ranks will be on hand to watch the action and others will be able to catch it live streaming on Baller TV. Here's a quick look at some of the general things to watch out for.

Top Five Talent Will Be In The House

Many of the top-ranked players in the Classes of 2025 and 2026 have signed up to participate, which should elevate the level of competition. Leading the way in the Class of 2025 is Top 5 ranked Brayden Barron Brayden Barron Brayden Barron 6'6" | SF Barlow | 2025 State OR from Barlow, who comes into the expo having already verbally committed to sign with Portland State. His length and athleticism and ability to finish above the rim will certainly draw plenty of oohs and ahhs. Another Top 5 standout participating is Owen Nathan Owen Nathan Owen Nathan 6'2" | CG Roosevelt | 2025 State OR from Roosevelt, who recently made news in another sport as he became his school's all-time scoring leader in soccer. His all-around game will fit in with the team he's playing on - which incidentally will be alongside Barron, giving their squad arguably the top one-two punch in the event. Diggy Griffin Diggy Griffin Diggy Griffin 6'5" | SF Rosemary Anderson Prep | 2025 State OR will also in attendance, giving fans a chance to see how his game has elevated playing for Rosemary Anderson Prep.

More players from the Top 25 that will be in Beaverton include Quincy Byas Quincy Byas Quincy Byas 6'7" | SG/CG Rosemary Anderson Prep | 2025 State OR from Rosemary Anderson Prep (#13), Nate Stiffler Nate Stiffler Nate Stiffler 6'4" | SF Thurston | 2025 State OR from Thurston (#15), Quincy Scott Quincy Scott Quincy Scott 6'6" | SF Grant | 2025 State OR from Grant (#17), Jessley Bukeyeneza Jessley Bukeyeneza Jessley Bukeyeneza 6'1" | CG/SG Century | 2025 State OR from Roosevelt (#20), Peyton Reyes Peyton Reyes Peyton Reyes 5'9" | PG Mountainside | 2025 State OR from Mountainside (#22), Walt Rosenberg Walt Rosenberg Walt Rosenberg 6'7" | PF Sherwood | 2025 State OR from Sherwood (#23), and Gavin Gross Gavin Gross Gavin Gross 6'6" | SF West Linn | 2025 State OR from West Linn (#24).

From the Class of 2026, Top Five guards Eli Vizconde Eli Vizconde Eli Vizconde 6'0" | CG Mountainside | 2026 State OR and Jaxon Lawson Jaxon Lawson Jaxon Lawson 6'0" | PG Canby | 2026 State OR lead the way and other members from the Top 25 include Andwele Bridges Andwele Bridges Andwele Bridges 6'0" | PG/SG Forest Grove | 2026 State OR from Forest Grove (#6), Keion James Adell Keion James Adell Keion James Adell 6'0" | CG Grant | 2026 State OR from Grant (#9), Kareem Artharee Kareem Artharee Kareem Artharee 6'4" | CG Gresham | 2026 State OR from Gresham (#11), Liam Rigney Liam Rigney Liam Rigney 6'6" | SG Lake Oswego | 2026 State OR from Lake Oswego (#19), Kai Holmes Kai Holmes Kai Holmes 6'6" | SF/SG Sheldon | 2026 State OR from Marist (#20), and Matthew Tompkins Matthew Tompkins Matthew Tompkins 6'4" | SF Summit | 2026 State OR from Summit (#22). All of these guys are college prospects and coaches will be watching and evaluating them the entire day.

Solid Size on the Court

As usual, the majority of the guys on the floor will be guards but this year there is a decent amount of size as there are eight players listed at 6-foot-6 and higher. Topping the list are two 6-foot-10 posts in seniors Matthew Beatty Matthew Beatty Matthew Beatty 6'9" | C Roosevelt | 2025 State OR from Roosevelt and Colby Getting Colby Getting Colby Getting 6'10" | C Portland Christian | 2025 State OR from Portland Christian. In addition to the aforementioned Rosenberg, other posts that have proven themselves at the big school varsity level include 6-foot-8 senior Dillon Moody Dillon Moody Dillon Moody 6'7" | C Glencoe | 2025 State OR from Glencoe and 6-foot-7 junior Eddie Szabatin Eddie Szabatin Eddie Szabatin 6'7" | PF Reynolds | 2026 State OR .

It's a Team Game

Several high schools have sent multiple players to play in Sunday's Expo. Topping them all with seven participants is Centennial, led by seniors Naoli Besha Naoli Besha Naoli Besha 6'6" | SF Centennial | 2025 State OR and Elijah Malloy Elijah Malloy Elijah Malloy 6'4" | CG Centennial | 2025 State OR , along with juniors Quentin Neal Quentin Neal Quentin Neal 6'2" | CG Centennial | 2026 State OR and Sincere Powe Sincere Powe Sincere Powe 6'0" | PG/SG Centennial | 2026 State OR . West Linn is second with four players in the field, and Century, Glencoe, Grant, Gresham, Roosevelt, Rosemary Anderson Prep, and West Albany all have three players a piece.

Small School Representation

While the majority of the players participating are from Oregon's highest classifications of 5A and 6A, there are a number of guys from smaller schools who will be looking to prove themselves against the best. Leading the way is returning 2A Player of the Year Gavin Hall Gavin Hall Gavin Hall 5'10" | CG Western Christian | 2025 State OR from Western Christian, and others of note include Kaiden Ford Kaiden Ford Kaiden Ford 6'3" | CG/SG Cascade | 2025 State OR from Cascade (4A), Cade Hartenstein Cade Hartenstein Cade Hartenstein 6'1" | PG Westside Christian | 2026 State OR from North Marion (4A), Easton Hermann from Newport (4A), Jona Lee Jona Lee Jona Lee 5'8" | CG/PG Westside Christian | 2025 State OR from Westside Christian (3A), Isaiah Koehnke Isaiah Koehnke Isaiah Koehnke 6'0" | CG Regis | 2025 State OR and Lucas Koehnke from Regis (2A), and junior Chace Nichols from Trinity Lutheran (1A) who will all be present and ready to compete.

Road Tripping From Afar

As expected, most of the players in the gym are from the Portland Metro area with a number coming up from Salem, others from Eugene and Bend, and even more from Southern Oregon in Roseburg and Medford. There are a few guys from out-of-state this year as well, including Jayden Vasisht from Miramonte (CA), Jayce Grotte from La Center (WA), Josiah Jointer from Fort Vancouver (WA), and all the way from Alaska comes Pedrin Sacade-Hurt from Juneau Douglas.

The event starts at 11 am on Sunday morning and all the action will conclude by 4 pm. Attendance is free for all spectators. PrepHoops Oregon will be providing full coverage of the event on Twitter and will have plenty of write-up coverage in the days and weeks after it concludes.
