Coming into high school, Reyes might even be the first to tell you his strength was not his outside shooting. But given the hard work he’s put in both with his form and confidence level, it’s clear the senior is now a threat and it showed during the LSI. The senior stepped up and knocked down 13-for-25 from beyond the arc with that .520 percentage mark ranking third among all players who hit at least two threes a game.

Reyes averaged 17.5 ppg on 52.3 percent shooting, 52 percent from three-point range, and 84.6 percent from the line. In the tournament the senior guard was absolutely sizzling from beyond the arc, showing off his improved consistency and confidence in his shot from three. He wasn’t just bombing away either as Reyes got to the hoop, especially in transition, and knocked down free throws too.

Played both backcourt positions with ease and showed comfortability both on and off the basketball. Shot the ball well from mid-range and finished well at the hoop and in general made good decisions with the ball. Plenty of energy on the defensive end sticking it to backcourt assignments but had the strength to battle bigger players down low.

Reyes had it going on all cylinders at elite camp. The 5-foot-9 guard used his quickness and was all over the place on defense as always, but he had his offensive game clicking as well. He hit jumpers from deep, knocked down shots pulling up in mid-range, and got loose for layups on the break. His decision making was on tap as he found the open man both cutting to the hoop or on the perimeter.

Hard-nosed play, stick ’em defense, and all-out hustle is what we’ve come to expect from Reyes – and he certainly displayed that the entire weekend for Oregon Prospects. What the rising Mountainside senior also showed was supreme confidence in his jumper and his marksmanship from three ranked him as one of the best outside shooters we saw in the tournament. He was a knockdown shooter from deep but also was good with his mid-range floater as well.
