Every good team has a high motor guy who plays really hard on both ends of the floor as his way of impacting the game. Nicholson is that guy for the Mavericks. The lefty is the ultimate energy guy & has shown the ability to attack the basket effectively this year as well.

Come away more & more impressed every time I see Nicholson play. Athletic, lefty slasher who is aggressive attacking down hill. Stepped out & knocked down an early three as well. High motor kid, super active on the boards & the defensive end of the court.

put together a strong all-around performance, finishing with 12 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists. He has a great eye for the ball and understands spacing on the offensive end, consistently putting himself in position to get quality looks in the post. Strong and physical, he attacks the rim, gets to the free-throw line, and doesn’t shy away from contact. He plays with high energy and impacts the game in multiple ways.

Mountainside lacks size up front this season, so Nicholson has stepped in to play “big”. This has meant that a lot of his offensively opportunities are near the basket, but the junior has done the job by converting at a high rate. During the LSI, he shot 15-for-25 from the field and the lefty often finished plays around the hoop through contact. (JT)

Nicholson emerged as a solid rotation piece as a sophomore and is projected to be a starter in 2024-25 for the Mavericks. The 6-foot-2 guard has added strength to his frame and his all-around ability on both ends, especially the way he can guard multiple positions, will make him a valuable asset.
