One thing is going to be painfully clear in 2026-27 for Mountainside – a lot of the offensive load will be resting on Ochoa’s shoulders. Given what we saw in Wilsonville, the rising senior is more than capable of taking on the challenge as he certainly showed he can score in multiple ways. Known throughout his high school career as a shooter, he knocked down a couple of threes in the semifinals against Cleveland but also used a number of dribble-drive moves to free himself in the mid-range and going to the basket. Add on 6 rebounds and some nice work on the defensive end and Ochoa helped Mountainside reach the title game for the second year in a row.

Ochoa has put up some monster scoring efforts so far this summer with Mountainside and while his 15-point effort in a tight loss to Prairie wasn’t necessarily huge, it was a big part of the Mavericks offense in an overall low-scoring game. The rising senior was sharp with the deep ball as usual but showed good form on his pull-ups and had a number of strong drives to the basket absorbing contact and earning free throw line opportunities.

Huge splash of a start to the Memorial Day Championships from Ochoa in G-Elite’s very first game. The Mountainside senior guard had his jumper stuck on automatic draining threes, but was also effective creating offense the dribble for opportunities at the hoop too. 30+ points and a win. He could very well be the top scoring threat for the Mavs

Ochoa is a confident and aggressive offensive threat who can heat up quickly. He’s a great outside shooter with range, complemented by a polished mid-range game that allows him to score at multiple levels. Quick and decisive, he gets to his spots efficiently and isn’t afraid to let it fly when open. In his matchup against Carr Academy, he finished with 16 points, knocking down four three-pointers. His confidence, shot-making, and ability to create make him a dangerous offensive weapon.

Crafty guard, who struggled with his shot on Tuesday. Obvious that he is a high level shooter & that ability created space & driving lanes for his teammates. Did a nice job of attacking off the dribble & finding teammates for open shots.
