HoopSource HS Fall League had a number of varsity games at Reynolds High Schoool and Ramsay Neu had the opportunity to catch some action. Here are some of the top performers.

Reports written by Ramsay Neu

Olivera's impact could be felt from the very first play of the day at Reynolds High School. The wolves won the jump and tipped out to Olivera for a fast break slam, setting the tone early. Even standing at almost 6'6 he still showed off his handle, initiating the offense for the wolf pack and distributing the ball to his teammates. Looks like he could have more offers to come.

Gabriel once again did almost everything for the Axeman. He hit a multitude of 3's, and kept getting to the rim showing off his ability to get downhill. What set him apart was his playmaking for South Eugene. Every fast break it seemed he was involved in the play, either getting to the rim or throwing a no look pass to one of his teammates in the lane.

The Sheldon senior started off hot, hitting 4 3's to start the game. When watching him play you can see he oozes with confidence, pulling up from the logo or taking it to the rim through traffic. Another part of his game that stood out was his ability to distribute. A fearless guard who could help the Irish win games next year.

Pacheco was the lead creator for a south Medford team that was dealing with injuries. An undersized guard, Pacheco excels on the perimeter, using his handle and quickness too blow past bigger defenders. He can score at all 3 levels, but one place that particularly stood out was the mid range.

Abalo excels at getting to the rim, and this can be seen every time he plays. His best play was against the in conference Mountainside Mavericks, where he got the ball at the 3 point line on the fast break, throwing down a 1 hand jam. He also has developed a better jumper, and it showed when he hit a ultra contested step back 3 to keep the beavers in the game against Sherwood.

From the moment the ball tipped off it was clear Ochoa was the Mavericks go to scoring option. His combination of quickness and skill led to him scoring at all 3 levels, but what particularly stood out was his ability to score at the rim, going at the opposing defense every possession. Ochoa also did a great job getting to the line, shooting a number of free throws on the day.
