Bollin, a wing out of the Newman School in Massachusetts, checks in at #7 among the small forwards and #25 overall. The 6’6″ wing is a versatile lefty that does a little bit of everything on the offensive end of the floor. He’s capable of attacking off the bounce and finishing through contact at the rim, has proven to be a quality decision maker and passer with the ball in his hands, and can knock down shots in catch and shoot situations from behind the arc. He’s got a nose for the ball as a two-way rebounder, can guard any position on the floor, and has a ton of built in intangibles that allow him to impact winning at a high level. Bollin will continue his academic and athletic career in the fall at Brown.

Bollin is such an important piece for Newman, whether the box score stats show it or not. The 6-foot-6 wing was a relentless force on the offensive boards all week, consistently bulldozing his way to the front of the rim and completely discarding boxouts on his way there. His hands are like magnets to the ball, and he’s strong and tough enough to get it when he wants it. Bollin also has an excellent feel for how to screen and read the defense offensively—he did an excellent job slipping screens on switching defenses all week, and he makes great decisions with the ball when he drives to the hoop. He’s an awesome player who will probably be difficult for Brown to keep off the floor next year.

I have to give Bollin his flowers from this weekend. The 6-foot-6 wing doesn’t shoot the ball well from three, but he still finds a way to impact the game offensively with his ability to be a ball mover and connector, as well as one of the better screeners at the wing position I’ve seen. He’s a phenomenal offensive rebounder, and he’s one of the toughest guys in the region when it comes to matching the physicality of ANYONE, even an incredibly big and strong Putnam team. He makes all the hustle plays, he doesn’t care about his stats, and it’s very clear that all he wants to do is help his team win. The Brown University commit is going to make his college coaches VERY happy with his understanding of his strengths and role on a team, even as a freshman.

Bollin, out of the Newman School in Massachusetts, checks in at #6 among the small forwards and #25 overall. Bollin is one of the better connectors in New England, a versatile prospect that does whatever it takes to win basketball games. He’s capable of making shots from behind the arc, shows the ability to make good reads on his drives, and is a high IQ off-ball mover. On the other end of the floor, he can guard four positions, makes plays in passing lanes, and uses his length to be impactful on the glass. He’ll continue to play next year at Brown.

+30 (#58 to #28)
Bollin, a wing out of the Newman School, jumped 30 spots in this rankings update. The Brown commit is the ultimate connector, filling a variety of roles on the floor and doing whatever it takes to impact winning. He played a major role this summer for the Middlesex Magic and should have a similar role this winter for one of the top prep teams in the country. He’s physically strong, can defender on the perimeter or in the paint, and has the ability to finish around the rim with either hand. He does a nice job of moving the ball, makes good decisions with the ball in his hands, and plays with a high two-way motor.

I’ve seen Bollin in AAU, where he’s a big-time driver who loves to get into the paint and finish with his left. But with Newman, he shifts his role to a ball mover and little things guy, which is admirable. He is probably the best kick-ahead passer at the NEBL; he’s always looking to push the pace and throws incredibly crisp passes up the court. He’s also a great extra passer in the half court and can hit an open three semi-consistently. Defensively, Bollin often takes the most difficult matchup and is certainly not afraid to mix it up in the paint; he’s strong, tough, and athletic. The junior should be a scholarship player and would really benefit from making his shot a bit quicker.

-Bollin played his role to perfection with two stat sheet-stuffing performances that showed his ability to impact the game as an athletic wing. His handle doesn’t look smooth but was tight enough to execute 3 coast to coast drives off of defensive rebounds to score at the rim on the other end. Bollins’ vertical pop stands out as a shot-blocker that can get blocks both on or off the ball while hitting the glass with taller bigs. Really liked the timing of his cuts from the corners to get easy backdoor layups, especially because he combines that with touch passes off movement to bigs for easier looks and serves as a connector from a standstill on the wing.

impressed with his ability to take over the game in numerous ways that sometimes had nothing to do with scoring. Defensively, he was an absolute hound on the ball, forcing turnovers and creating transition offense. He was making great passes in the half-court and feeding his teammates by making good reads when the time called for them. He rebounded effectively and took advantage of his effort by pushing the ball down the court at all times. He even got into the scoring action too, pressuring the basket with hard drives to the rim and using his strength and toughness to make things happen. He should continue to be a massive contributor to Newman this season.

Bollin showcased his resiliency throughout the game, he finished with 25 points and was constantly getting to spots downhill and finishing inside. He always finds a way to be in the right spots to make a play. He is an unselfish player who has no problem making his teammates better. Bollin showed he could also stretch defenses with his shooting.

Bollin is a lot bigger and stronger than I remember, and it’s paying dividends for him on both ends of the floor. Offensively, he’s able to bully his way to the rim and mash his way into the defender’s body while on the ground or while airborne. Defensively, he can guard bigs and guards as a result of his quickness and build; he was holding his own against

in Saturday night’s matchup, which is an incredibly tall task. Bollin should definitely get some more low level scholarship offers, likely at the low or mid D1 level. He has an edge to him, too.
