MBCA Camp - College Coach Attendance Reports

What did the college coach attendance look like after the event was all done? Who came to watch kids? What players had their offered schools actually come watch them and show interest in them? We give you the list NOW   High Major. Minnesota Head Coach Niko Medved was there, he watched [player_tooltip player_id='2420169' first='Ahmed' last='Nur'], offered Nur and then headed out to the nation's biggest event that night (Section 7 in Phoenix which has teams from all over the nation). Minnesota assistant Dave Thorson was at the event watching all the talent both days, Wisconsin assistant Brad Davison watched several players Friday, and Nebraska assistants Padyn Borders was also there Friday. Northwestern signed up to watch and may have been there Friday night, they were looking at [player_tooltip player_id='2126115' first='Vincent' last='Cronin'] among others.   Summit League. Seven of the nine teams from the division one Summit League were in attendance including head coach Johnny Tauer at St. Thomas, Paul Sather at North Dakota, and David Richman from NDSU. UST, UND, and NDSU all had assistants at the events as well. South Dakota State, South Dakota, Omaha and Denver also had assistant coaches at the event.   More Division One. The high major attendance was not good at MBCA- [player_tooltip player_id='2420169' first='Ahmed' last='Nur'] was watched by just about all high majors at NBPA Camp on Wednesday and Thursday so they went and saw other targets after watching him and other top stars over those two days - but the low major and mid major attendance was very good.   The other D1s (not mentioned above) were Indiana State, California Baptist, Citadel, Utah State, Northern Iowa, Drake, Miami of Ohio, Army, Western Illinois, Lafeyette, Illinois-Chicago, Loyola Chicago, and I think I saw Ohio and a few others that are slipping the mind (but I am sure I will be reminded soon).   The NSIC. As I stare at the league page I can tell you the following head coaches from the NSIC were watching close: Cody Schilling from Augustana, Casey Bruggeman of Jamestown, Matt Margenthaler from Minnesota State Mankato, Jason Kemp from Minnesota State Moorhead, Matt Wilber from Northern State, Chris Johnson from Sioux Falls, and Quincy Henderson from St. Cloud State.   There were also assistants from Augustana, Concordia-St. Paul, Jamestown, Minnesota-Crookston, Minnesota-Duluth, Minnesota State-Mankato, Minnesota State-Moorhead, St. Cloud State, University of Mary, Minot State, and Winona State. In addition, other division two schools at the event included Northern Michigan and Florida Tech.   MIAC. We saw head coaches Gabe Miller from Bethel, Concordia-Moorhead coach Tyler Bormann, Jim Hayes from Hamline, St. John's Head Coach Pat McKenzie, and St. Scholastica's Ben Davis (and potentially 1-2 others, I am sorry, I tried to write down all but staring really close at shirts is sometimes creepy so I avoid that). I also saw assistants from Augsburg, St. Mary's, St. Olaf, and Macalester.   Who Came to See Players they Offered?   Why does it matter if the offered school is watching the player they offered? Minnesota was there on Friday and Saturday to watch but Nur had dozens of teams that have offered or will offer watching him at NBPA on Wednesday and Thursday. Offered schools UIC, Miami of Ohio, Loyola Chicago, Cal Baptist, and South Dakota State were there. Oral Roberts was not. Offered schools Montana and Cal State Bakersfield were not there. Offered schools Northern State, Sioux Falls, Minnesota State-Moorhead and St. Cloud State were in attendance. Gavyn has seven D2 offers and all seven were watching him play this weekend.   [player_tooltip player_id='2126450' first='Gavin' last='Walter'] of Champlin Park/Hoop Habits. Committed to Northern Iowa, head coach Kyle Green was watching.   [player_tooltip player_id='2362161' first='Matthew' last='Johnson'] of St. Louis Park/[program_tooltip program_id='2075672' first='Minnesota' last='Fury']. Johnson has five D2 offers and all of those schools watched him, he was offered by Wyoming in May but they did not show to the MBCA.   [player_tooltip player_id='2126458' first='Luke' last='Schroeder'] of Shakopee/Hoop Habits. Luke has six D2 offers, all six schools watched him at MBCA. Duluth and USF had offered Kobby and they were there, Minnesota State-Mankato watched and offered after the event. Bryce has six D2 offers, four of those schools were at camp to watch (the four NSIC schools were there). I think it's important to note though, that is the level of offer Idoko will have as he is playing like a high major, top prospect in the state talent the last two months.
