7th Place Game

Southmoore 97, Okarche 93

Southmoore started strong and was able to hold off Okarche to take home seventh place. The SaberCats led by 10 after the first quarter, and by 12 at halftime. [player_tooltip player_id='2140774' first='Merrick' last='Gregory'] had his best game of the tournament, attacking closeouts consistently to go along with his three 3-point makes. He finished with 24 points. [player_tooltip player_id='2140751' first='Jasper' last='Chaves'] played a huger role inside, grabbing 14 rebounds to go along with his 25 points. The junior converted multiple steals into fastbreak layups and was extremely active on defense. Gabriel Willingham hit multiple 3-pointers for the SaberCats and contributed with 12 points. This was a massive boost for his squad, as he did not play the previous day. [player_tooltip player_id='2140800' first='Tyson' last='Pogi'] fought through a left wrist injury and scored well for the second day in a row. His ability to navigate through defenders and handle the ball contributed to some baskets at the rim for the 5'11 guard. Pogi finished with 20 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='1552358' first='Jett' last='Mueggenborg'] almost willed the Warriors all the way back in this one. Okarche fought hard in the second half and continued to fight. Mueggenborg hit 13 free throws and was clutch in the 4th quarter. He sized up multiple defenders and hit deep shots over top of length on the perimeter. The crafty scoring for the senior was on full display in this one, as he finished the tournament with an unbelievable 49-point performance. Ethan Kirby showed some very good on-ball defense and forced multiple turnovers to go along with three 3-pointers. Hannah Carnott was also big for the Warriors, providing a scoring lift with 12 points.

5th Place Game

Owasso 63, Memorial 59

The Rams got off to a hot start and shot 67% in the first half. [player_tooltip player_id='1552362' first='Boden' last='Williams'] hit seven of his first eight shots. The lead was stretched to as many as 19 points as well. With things tightening up in the second half, [player_tooltip player_id='1552386' first='MJ' last='Milton'] went to work. He had multiple tough finishes inside, including an and-one to steady things with just over three minutes left. Williams made free throws from there to seal things for his squad. The senior finished with 29 points.

The Chargers had to work hard to get back in this one. [player_tooltip player_id='1888702' first='Shon' last='King'] fired in 19 points and hit some clutch perimeter shots in the second half. The senior traded baskets with [player_tooltip player_id='1552362' first='Boden' last='Williams'] late in the contest. [player_tooltip player_id='2527381' first='Jarius' last='Bossell'] had another big-time performance as he scored 21 points and hit six three-pointers. Isaiah Garrett worked tirelessly on both ends of the floor, keeping balls alive and grabbing strong rebounds.

3rd Place Game

Fort Gibson 74, Cascia Hall 70

[player_tooltip player_id='2389001' first='Cash' last='Keys'] helped the Tigers rebound after a 39-point semifinal loss to Millwood. The junior hit some impressive shots from beyond the arc while also producing trips to the free throw line with aggressive drives to the basket. Keys showcased good vision as well as he found Ky Murrell multiple times for open shots. Fort Gibson did a great job mixing up defensive looks and building a 15-point second half lead over the Commandos. The game tightened in the fourth quarter but multiple conversions at the free throw line kept the Tigers in front for good.

Cascia Hall got another brilliant performance for [player_tooltip player_id='2323191' first='Memphis' last='Duffie'] in the loss. The junior shot 44% from the floor and scored 23 points. Duffie operated well in the half court as he was able to move well without the ball and hit multiple long range 3-pointers. The Commandos had a really strong performance in this tournament against some stiff competition; they will look to build on what their depth showed offensively in this tournament.

Championship

Millwood 83, East Central 55

The Falcons came out hungry and played with a ton of intensity on defense. The full court pressure really sped up the Cardinals and forced some rushed shots. [player_tooltip player_id='2223700' first='Amari' last='Barrett'] led the way, using his length to alter passes throughout the night. The senior scored at will in the paint in the first quarter and scored ten straight points in the first quarter. Multiple teammates chipped in and hit shots from beyond the arc, including Jonathan Van Buren. The 6'4 senior hit timely early shots and complimented those with bruising finishes at the rim. His ability to play through contact matched that of Barrett's and was a big reason they were able to keep extending the lead.

East Central struggled after getting down early. Offensively, they turned the ball over 16 times and looked rushed when they did get the ball across half court. Deandre Rhodes had another strong performance, battling hard for rebounds and making shots from all over the floor. Rhodes again showed his ability to step out and hit a face up 3-pointer. The Cardinals will need to move on quickly from this one, but they have a lot of positives to take from the three games. Rickey Bruner shot well from beyond the arc; [player_tooltip player_id='2560570' first='David' last='Douglas'] had some tremendous scoring runs and [player_tooltip player_id='2140742' first='Gregory' last='Nash'] continues to play composed while showing his ability to stuff the stat sheet.

All-Tournament Team

[player_tooltip player_id='2223700' first='Amari' last='Barrett'] | Senior | Millwood – MVP Award

18.0 PPG, 8.3 RPG

Barrett is the ultimate teammate, and his ability to impact the game in many ways was evident again in the tournament. Barrett sets the tempo each time out with defensive intensity, positioning and an attack mindset. The senior forced turnovers, worked hard on the glass and scored consistently in the paint. Barrett plays under control and moves the ball offensively to create open shots for others. His unselfishness is evident in all that he does.

[player_tooltip player_id='1552358' first='Jett' last='Mueggenborg'] | Senior | Okarche

34.0 PPG, 9.0 RPG

Mueggenborg played well throughout the tournament. His ability to create fouls was on display each day. He was able to save his best for last, as he shot 67% from the floor, while scoring 26 fourth quarter points against Southmoore. The senior hit a ton of contested shots as he almost willed the Warriors back to victory. The toughness and length that he faced from some much bigger schools will provide him with a lot to think about as the second semester starts. We believe that this will help him to continue to grow in tough moments as his team will count on him again to bring home a second state championship.

[player_tooltip player_id='1552362' first='Boden' last='Williams'] | Senior | Owasso

27.0 PPG

Williams was very efficient in this tournament. He was a very steady option for the Rams, who were without [player_tooltip player_id='1552319' first='Jalen' last='Montonati']. The senior guard stepped into the role of primary scorer and shot very well from mid-range. He also showcased tremendous ball-handling in both half-court and fast break situations. Williams got to the free throw line often by attacking perimeter defenders off the bounce.

Ky Murrell | Senior | Fort Gibson

13.3 PPG, 4.6 AST

Murrell was the unquestioned leader for the Tigers throughout the tournament. A big reason why they took home third place, he displayed solid ball-handling, perimeter shot-making and an ability to set up teammates. The Tigers responded well after the loss to Millwood, and it's no surprise that the junior shot well again, scoring 15 points against Cascia Hall.

[player_tooltip player_id='1783189' first='Isaiah' last='Wilks'] | Senior | Millwood

19.3 PPG

The Louisiana-commit set the tone in game one against Southmoore as he had the ball on a string and controlled the action on the offensive end. Wilks hit multiple pull-up jumpers to go with a strong display from beyond the arc. The ability of the senior to navigate through traffic and create angles to finish are a huge boost for his squad. Wilks and Barrett work together to create pressure defensively and create easy baskets in transition as well.

Deandre Rhodes | Junior | East Central

21.0 PPG, 8.0 RPG

East Central had some great individual performances over the three-game stretch. They featured a new leading scorer in each game, while [player_tooltip player_id='2140742' first='Gregory' last='Nash'] also impacted winning by doing a little bit of everything. Rickey Bruner scored well from deep, and [player_tooltip player_id='2560570' first='David' last='Douglas'] piled up 29 points in a fantastic performance. However, Rhodes proved to be the most consistent and gets the nod on this list. The ability of the junior to battle on the glass and score from both inside the paint and outside of the 3-point arc made him a tough matchup for opponents. Rhodes plays with a high motor and finished the tournament with a 27-point, 8-rebound performance against the Falcons.
