After a breakout junior campaign, the heady 918 point guard has fit in naturally with his 405 based teammates. Does a good job of balancing finding teammates to run the show while also getting his as a scorer. Was vocal and energetic throughout practice, which fits well with his chip on a shoulder playing style. Giving him the intangibles to not only survive but thrive in a game of giants. As Nash has mature, he’s done a great job of merging flashy handles and passing, with the composure of a true floor general.

Tough minded floor general, who did a good job of balancing getting his and involving his teammates. Knows when to keep his dribble alive on drives to buy time to make passes instead of forcing shots. Nash’s junior season saw him start to better combine his flashy playing style with the gritty mindset needed for small guards to thrive at the next level. And that continued with his good finishes and other contributions with I4 in Kansas City.

Nash entered high school as a quick guard, with a flashy game. Now as his junior year comes to a close, he’s one of the most complete producers in the state. In a tough loss to rivals BTW he still put together a full stat line of 15 points, 7 assists, 6 rebounds and 7 steals. Then he took it up a notch in a win or go home victory over McAlester. In that one, Nash went for 23 points, 8 assists, 5 rebounds and 4 steals.
The junior guard is an advantage creator in transition, pushing the tempo with a fast but controlled playing style. In the halfcourt, he’s a good shooter from distance, with a fantastic mid-range game when ran off the line. Expect Nash to keep showing up in the biggest moments for the Cardinals.

Based on this and the opening round of the Class 5A State Tournament last year, Nash might have the big game gene. Plays fearless as a shooter. Displayed college range with one above the break make. Then another time, pumped fake, let a defender fly by and smoothly drained it. Good footwork and patience as a driver, or pivoting into mid-range jumpers. Has a steely confidence to his game, that shows up when the stakes are high. Willing to defend and pressure as well.

A quick and tricky lead guard, Nash was the catalyst for last year’s GTH Boom City squad that was one of the top 8th grade teams in the country. Because of the efforts of Nash and his teammates, they now play at the 3SSB level in Bryan, Texas this weekend. With quality competition, expect the 918 guard to make strides this spring and summer.
