A TNT player, Mitchell is a monster off the bounce. Is pure entertainment and efficient in transition, with the ablity to tear the rim down with dunks. Or use euros and hesitation moves to freeze and blow by defenders. His mid-range game has become locked in, making him a great scorer from 15-18 feet and in. His three point shot is still streaky but the improvement in the mid-range is a good longterm sign. Virginia Tech recently offered and more big time programs should show interest as he continues EYBL play with ProSkills.

Mitchell showed his outstanding scoring ability against Chaminade (MO). He seemingly hit tough shot after tough shot against some very strong defensive intensity from the Red Devils. With the game going back and forth early on, the junior was able to create separation and hit a pair of fadeaway jump shots. Mitchell continues to mix play-making, shooting and finishing at a high level. His combination of offensive moves and counter moves were very impressive over the weekend.

Mitchell is already established as one of the best talents in Oklahoma. He’s really good. Has the type of athleticism that pops off the screen. He has a mega watt smile that only adds to the star potential. When it comes to elite prospects like Joc, it’s the difference between good or great. Right now when tracking his development to other similar top tier guards over the last decade in Oklahoma, he’s only good. He has yet to make the jump to great.
Because of his playing style and looks, he’s often called Baby Ant. After Anthony Edwards. While there are similarities, he’s also quite similar in athleticism and height wise to another NBA player, Marcus Smart. The difference is Smart in high school had an one of a kind motor that made him impact the game in multiple ways. When Mitchell isn’t scoring, his impact on the court can be muted. That’s a key for him to make a; becoming an all around impact player and reaching greatness.
