The two games against Tulsa Memorial this season are likely the best example of the highs and lows of the promising wing prospect. In the first one, Rhodes struggled and his team lost. Memorial is a physical and well disciplined team, negating some of the athletic advantages he usually has. But when his jumper is on, he can be one of the best juniors in the state. Which he was when East Central won the rematch. He has the trait that when the first three goes in, odds are more will follow. One transformation of his game this season that indicates his potential for long term success is his motor has ramped up. He plays harder and fiercer more often. Has become the backbone to a guard have EC team that has State Title aspirations. If Rhodes keeps his hard hat, lunch pail mentality, then he’ll continue to sky.

A versatile wing prospect for the Eagles, he went off for 29 points in the title game. Earning him all tournament honors. Was a force around the rim, even against a physical and tall 6A squad. Multiple And 1 finishes and getting on the offensive glass. It was also one of the games where Rhodes was dialed in a shooter. He’s a bit streaky at times, but when on he can change games. One of those examples came when he drilled a big three as a trailer. Type of player who when he scores, they are often momentum swinging buckets.

Another inside-outside prospect. When his motor is running, he’s a battler inside. And a strong all around athlete. Good bounce in transition. Has the ability to catch fire from three, especially as a floor spacing, catch and shoot threat. Rhodes ability to attack off the bounce still needs improvement. But he has an outstanding base of size and athleticism. Which could lead to him really taking off over the next year.

Rhodes was dominant inside, cleaning up the glass and finishing around the rim with power. His 11 rebounds and physicality in the paint set the tone early. Rhodes adds value as a hard-nosed post player who stays active on both ends.

Rhodes bought into his role and finished a productive and impactful sophomore campaign for EC. Hit threes, and got after it on defense. Even was willing to take a charge. Finished with 11 points and plays with better focus while retaining swagger. Good trajectory and role to thrive in as he switches gears to AAU season.

Rhodes was a key force on Edison’s run to the Class 5A State Tournament as a freshman, but had a slow start to his sophomore campaign. A mid-season move to East Central has jumpstarted his season. Had 17 points in a tournament championship win in one of his first games for the Cardinals. Good bounce allows him to be effective on the rim, and potentially a high level rebounder. He’s streaky at times from three, but when on he can change games in a hurry from long distance. Rhodes has a lot of good tools when it comes to his ceiling. Just needs consistency in skill development to make the next step.

The athletic prospect currently profiles as a hybrid forward, with the potential to turn into a perimeter player. This is made possible by a good movement profile for his size, along with what looks to be a reliable jumper as a catch and shoot option from the perimeter. This spring he has flashed some of the grit and toughness to do the dirty work around the rim. With the developing athleticism to be an above the finisher. Rhodes has a strong and athletic foundation to build off, with the potential to emerge as one of the better prospects in Oklahoma.

One of the more intriguing prospects in Oklahoma’s freshman class, Rhodes Jr was plagued by foul trouble in the up tempo game. But his moments on the court were memorable as the wing-forward prospect shot it well from distance. He was the beneficiary of drives from Johnson and Jackson, making the defense pay for helping off of him. Another promising long term sign came with how his movements are becoming more agile and it looks like the forward has the athletic traits to eventually turn into a full perimeter prospect.

One of the early promising bigs in the class, Rhodes is already an imposing figure around the basket. With broad shoulders, he could be a terror in the paint in both ends. While also starting to develop some wiggle off the dribble as well.

Rhodes is a guy that has a chance to be good as he grows and matures. He showed flashes of his ability to shoot the three-point shot and get to the whole as well. On the defensive side of the basketball, he uses his length well to discourage guards from getting straight lines to the basket. Although he didn’t get a bunch of opportunities to handle the ball when he did, he showed that he was comfortable handling it and making moves on the perimeter. He is a kid that college coaches will want to keep an eye on as the season goes on because he has a chance to be a mid-major prospect.
