Duffie looks to lead the way for Cascia Hall against a tough St. Xavier (KY) team on Saturday. The soon-to-be senior provides it all on the offensive end. He is poised in big moments and can score in a number of different ways. Look for Duffie to use his strength to work past defenders and setup others. He is able to read defenses at an exceptionally high level. St. Xavier will counter with an exceptional forward, in sophomore Jordan Jackson. Jackson is a long athlete that can cause problems defensively and block shots.

The constant theme for Duffie over his prep career is that he’s a winning basketball player. Hits timely threes, makes the right passes, while also playing stronger and bigger than his height. Complete with a knack to be in the right place, right time to force turnovers and grab boards. After an adjustment period last weekend with his new program (MOKAN), Duffie proved his ability to impact winning with production in a victory over Vegas Elite. Went for a full stat line 13 points, (3-5 shooting from three), 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals. The Class 4A State Champion Commando is the type of prospect who has a high floor for mid-major programs.

Duffie led 4A in scoring at the state tournament with 59 points in total. The junior helped propel Cascia Hall to a state championship victory last month. Duffie can score from all three levels and simply makes tough shots look routine. His improvement as a ball handler this past season has made him a viable college prospect at the Division 1 level. Look for Memphis to lead the way as Cascia Hall will look to repeat next season.

Duffie led the Commandos to their first State Title since 2009. And it was the perfect evolution of Duffie’s high school career. Freshman year, Cascia reached the semifinals. Sophomore year, Cascia lost in the finals. Junior year, Cascia won gold. And it came because Duffie took the reigns and made the team of sharpshooters, talented scorers and athletes run beautifully. He’s not what some would view as a traditional PG, but his strong frame and feel for the game allow him to shrug off intense ball pressure and be the catalyst for the Commandos. If he carries over the same level of intensity and production from the state tournament to grassroots season, expect the offers to roll in for the 918 standout.

Always a knockdown shooter and player who made winning plays, Duffie took a leap this year. By taking the reigns and being the leader of a State Championship team. One of the best examples of his development as a playmaker is the dime he dropped to end the first half. Likely not a true point at the next level, but now is a versatile offensive weapon. With the size to cover 1-3 as well on defense. Finished with 22 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists, to cap off an awesome week and season. No brainer for Low-Mid Major programs looking to add shooting, savviness and a winner.

Duffie looked every bit a player who has started since his freshman year. His bread and butter is shooting, which he got going with three triples in the first. He’s developed his all around game into being the engine for the Commandos. It showed up in the box score with 6 dimes. And it was felt the most in the fourth quarter, when he’d pushed the tempo and get the ball down the court to his teammates. Finished with 19 points. Including flexing his muscles a bit with and emphatic And 1 late.

Duffie has turned into the traditional version of a spot up, floor spacing threat. Odds are if his feet are set and within 25 feet, the shot is going in. The shooting, his height and overall play give him a very translatable skillset to the next level. He’s a smart and physical defender, who can switch along the perimeter between 1-3. And when he drives, he’s becoming a stronger finisher. While also being an unselfish and team first player, making the right passes. Lunch pail type player, who has one of the higher floors when it comes to finding and excelling in a role at the next level.

Duffie already has a translatable game. He’s one of the top shooters in class. Good positional size and a willingness to defend makes him switchable on defense. Is unselfish and a connector and offense as well. Starting to become stronger and more athletic, making him an even better finisher in the rim. Earned an offer from ORU and has a rock solid floor, with the potential to become even more.

It’s fun to watch already good players continue to hit that next level as they develop. Already a strong shooter, Duffie is improving in that regard to place himself among the premier shooters in Oklahoma. He is starting to make open three pointers look like layups. When his feet are set and he gets clear, it’s money. It was evident during Cascia Hall’s run to the Class 3A Title Game, and is carrying over this spring.
Along with the shooting, he’s starting to find an extra gear and strength to get downhill and finish with impressive acrobatic like moves in the paint. Also uses his strength and good size for a two guard to be impactful on defense. Rock solid prospect, with shooting as his calling card.

The sophomore capped off a very strong week at State, scoring a game high 16 points. As always, he was a threat from distance, including one late to bring Cascia within one. But throughout the week, he’s looked more athletic and confident on both ends of the court. Becoming a stronger finisher as the rim, while also making more plays on defense. The defensive improvement is particularly impressive. As he has a pathway to be a “3 and D” type guard at the next level, with the ability to be switchable with his strong frame.
