Below are four predictions for the June 2024 high school live period with ties to teams or prospects from southeastern Pennsylvania.

College Coaches are Going to Watch Academy of New Church

During the live period ANC will participate in the Mid-Atlantic Shootout (6/16-18) and DMV Live II (6/28-30). College coaches will want to make sure they have a front row seat for ANC's games at those events. Earlier this month the ANC coaching staff added [player_tooltip player_id='2364681' first='Marquis' last='Newson'] (the former No. 1 ranked 2027 prospect in Delaware) as well as [player_tooltip player_id='1387096' first='Bryce' last='Rollerson'] (the former No. 14 ranked 2026 prospect in Pennsylvania) to the roster. Both of those elite prospects already hold DI college offers. Additionally, the Lions return other highly rated backcourt prospects such as floor general [player_tooltip player_id='1608494' first='Dior' last='Carter'] and combo guard [player_tooltip player_id='1411649' first='Tobe' last='Nwobu, Jr.'] The ANC lineup also boasts significant talent in the frontcourt. Power forward [player_tooltip player_id='2056714' first='Ryan' last='Warren'], stretch-4 prospect [player_tooltip player_id='1865294' first='Cameron' last='Smith'], 6'7 wing [player_tooltip player_id='2047739' first='Caleb' last='Alston-Nelson'] and 6'7” combo-forward [player_tooltip player_id='2427377' first='Eric' last='Tati'] (2027) all have DI potential.

[player_tooltip player_id='1406768' first='Sammy' last='Jackson'] Posts a Monster Live Period

Towards the end of Roman Catholic's 2023-24 season [player_tooltip player_id='1406768' first='Sammy' last='Jackson'] posted a breakout stretch of games. His remarkable play has continued this spring on the UAA circuit where Jackson averaged 15.5 points and 4 rebounds per contest. Jackson also popped threes at a 35% clip during April and May. In short, Jackson has played outstanding basketball over the last four months, and we expect that trend to continue here in June. He is a 6'5” athlete who can score in the open court, drain triples, and get downhill off the dribble. On defense the combination of his length and quickness makes Jackson extremely switchable.

Muhlenberg Will Surprise Opponents

After assembling a 16-win season (7-4 in BCIAA) in 2023-24 and another appearance in the state tournament, the Muhls return several key players. 1st Team Al-Berks Conference selection Shermar Killens (15.3 ppg. last season) is the headliner for Muhlenberg. Killens is an off the dribble scoring wizard who will drop the occasional 3-ball to keep defenders honest. Running with Killens will be combo guard [player_tooltip player_id='2474322' first='Jayden' last='Kantner'] (9 ppg.) and standout rising sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='2425549' first='Elias' last='Hemmings']. On the 2024 spring grassroots circuit the athletic and talented Hemmings has shown the potential to be a No. 2 option. Class of 2026 guard Jeff Collado is a sleeper prospect to watch on this roster and 6'5” Jahvir Hutchinson should make major contributions as well.

A Host of 2027s Post a Breakout Month

Obviously the top ranked 2027 prospects in SEPA started making headlines this past winter. Names like [player_tooltip player_id='2195052' first='Tyler' last='Sutton'], [player_tooltip player_id='1454260' first='Silas' last='Graham'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1406767' first='Munir' last='Greig'] come to mind immediately. Now there is a next set of 2027s ready to make the jump to major contributor status for their varsity team. That step forward starts with this upcoming live period.

We expect that the following talented ‘27s (and many others) will blow up during the June live period: 3-point ace [player_tooltip player_id='2427367' first='Aiden' last='Diehl'], electric point guard [player_tooltip player_id='2407119' first='Sean' last='Banks']; speedy combo guard [player_tooltip player_id='2427312' first='Wilson' last='Udo'], athletic wing [player_tooltip player_id='2407120' first='Gage' last='Cunningham'], 6'7” power forward [player_tooltip player_id='2209002' first='Tyler' last='Royal'] and silky-smooth hybrid-forward [player_tooltip player_id='2427259' first='Jaden' last='Jennings']. College coaches will want to watch these 2027s closely in June.
