Expert Analysis
Ari Rosenfeld | Prep Hoops Scout
Teaming with several of his ANC teammates who collectively have won a ton of games (and championships) over the past several years, Warren made sure they’ve get the opportunity to suit up at least once more, leading Love Basketball to a runaway opening round win. Fresh off his commitment to Lock Haven, Warren poured in 25 points to earn team-high honors in an otherwise balanced scoring effort. The rugged two-way forward was effective using his size and athleticism to impose his will against an undersized frontcourt. He also flashed his underrated perimeter skillset while knocking down a pair of 3s and brought his typical high-motor two-way approach, hauling in nine rebounds in the process. Warren’s game isn’t always the prettiest but he consistently gets the job done and could wind up looking like a steal at the D2 level.

Warren makes his living on the interior, scoring around the painted areas of the floor. He shows flashes of putting the ball on the deck and navigating to different spots off the bounce. Warren is very active on the glass and consistently finds rebounds. He also runs the floor well in transition and has the ability to play above the rim.

With his frontcourt mate in Cam Smith sidelined by injury, Warren admirably shouldered the load on his way to a workmanlike 22-point double-double. The senior forward was a consistently rugged presence as an interior scorer, using his size and strength to impose his will and absorb contact before finishing efficiently or cashing in from the foul line. He was active on the glass on both ends, also standing out with his ability to run the floor hard in transition before showing his explosiveness as a finisher above the rim. Warren also displayed sneaky ball skills either pushing the break or attacking out of faceup situations. He’s still flying a bit under the radar but is worth a long look up to the low D1 level.

Arriving at ANC with Smith as a fellow repeat sophomore, Warren has been a key piece to a lot of winning over the past two seasons and will be counted on just the same if the Lions are to take home a third straight league title. Warren makes his presence felt most consistently on the defensive end, where he profiles as an active and aggressive playmaker in the frontcourt with a unique physical profile that allows him to switch onto any number of offensive matchups in space. He has an underrated skillset offensively as well, with the ability to run the floor for early offense, create his own shot against slower forwards off the bounce, and even space the floor in spurts as a shooter from the perimeter. His game isn’t the sexiest but Warren’s two-way contributions would make any number of D1 and D2 programs happy should they secure his services.

Warren is a hard playing athletic small ball forward who plays an imposing style of basketball. He has good timing to contest shots. Warren scores the basketball in different ways in the half-court. He uses his strength to bully his way to the bucket. Warren showed that he could play around the rim. He has nice touch inside. I would like to see him strengthen his handle. Warren’s energetic motor is seen throughout his play. Warren should be a priory recruit for LM and D2 programs in need of depth at the forward spot.

After a couple of successful summers with Philly Pride , Warren will remain on the UAA circuit but with a new outfit as he suits up with NJ Shoreshots. A rugged and athletic forward, he shines with his versatility as he’s able to operate both inside and out on either end of the floor based on what his team needs in a given game. Warren is a difficult matchup for opposing forwards as he can space the floor with a reliable jumper and also put it on the deck for strong and explosive finishes near the rim. With his powerful frame and extremely quick feet, he’s as versatile a 1-on-1 defender as there is in the state, able to bang inside with bigger forwards and also corral opposing guards on the perimeter. His game may not be the prettiest, but Warren’s versatility, athleticism, and blue-collar approach should earn him solid D1 interest in the coming months.

Warren put his name on the national recruiting map this spring / summer by tearing up the UAA circuit. Now his fall ball season is off to a tremendous start after he posted 30-spot at the Never Forget Classic. Warren fearlessly attacked the rack off the dribble. His size, power and athleticism enabled him to convert through contact. But Warren also proved he is nimble enough to avoid contact with a creative finish. Warren showed good rim-to-rim speed too, so he was an effective option on ANC’s secondary break. He even sprinkled in a couple of threes. On defense, Warren was an intimidating shot blocker.
