The sophomore averaged nearly 10 points and over 5 assists per game for the City Reapers, showcasing his ability to both score and facilitate. Sutton is a shifty, quick lead guard out of Philadelphia who is difficult to keep out of the paint, consistently creating pressure on the defense. He sees the floor well and plays with a strong feel for the game, making him an effective playmaker. A capable scorer with an improving perimeter shot, Sutton has a well-rounded skill set and intriguing potential the backcourt.

Returning to his native Philly area for his first hometown game since departing for Overtime Elite last fall, Sutton put on an impressive display while running the show for Difference Makers Elite. The sophomore was impossible to contain off the dribble, bobbing and weaving to his spots and making plays for his teammates or finishing strong through traffic around the rim. He was also key in turning up the defensive pressure to help establish momentum after getting out to an early deficit. He’s still working on his shooting consistency and getting his wind back after a late-season injury, but the high-major talent is evident whenever Sutton has the ball in his hands.

I really liked Sutton as an on-ball defender, a flashy ball handler and distributor in both drills and 5 on 5 action. That combination of skills will do Sutton wonders at OTE because of the style of play in that league. Seeing Sutton impact winning basketball without having to score impressed me and his natural feel as a hooper was still noticeable in this setting. One of the top point guards in the country, Sutton is a name high major college programs are already familiar with and will continue to see him over the next couple of years.

-Always come away impressed with how easy the game comes to Sutton as he put on a complete show in a win for NJ Scholars. Sutton wowed the crowd with a steal and 360 lay off the window in transition, threw several beautiful lobs in transition to streaking teammates, had a beautiful pocket pass off the live dribble to find a cutter that zipped through the defense from the wing to the rim, had a switch hand lay off the window, and a double-clutch lay off glass to put his team ahead late in the 2H. The shooting skillwork was also on display as he knocked down stepbacks, sidestep 3s, and executed a picture-perfect baseline turnaround fade-away for game (video here). Intrigued to see how his game is sharpened as the newest addition to OTE’s Cold Hearts group this upcoming season.

The Defensive MVP just announced he will be playing for OTE Cold Hearts this fall. Few can impact a game in as many areas as Tyler, shown here with a crafty finishing and ability to impact the game on the defensive end in the All-City Classic game. A high motor combo guard with explosive bursts can blow by you in the blink of an eye to score but mixes in jumpers and creates for others. He can score it in a variety of ways but can also break defenders down and lead a team as an impact facilitator.

The No. 1 ranked player in our Class of 2027 rankings is departing Roman Catholic and headed to play in the Over Time Elite League (Cold Hearts). During his sophomore year at Roman, Sutton contributed 14 points 4 assists and 3.5 rebounds per night. Sutton (1st Team All-PCL selection) is an electric guard who is a walking bucket. As a bonus to his scoring skill set, Sutton does a fantastic job of getting his teammates involved. This spring, Sutton has been one of the top performers on the EYBL circuit. Sutton holds numerous DI offers and we expect more to come pouring in this summer.

Guards are known to dominate in all-star settings and such was the case on Friday, with Sutton taking center stage while effortlessly gliding to his spots whenever the ball found his hands. The newest Overtime Elite signee was impossible to contain with his wickedly deceptive handle and extensive finishing package. He kept his eyes up to scan for open teammates and was opportunistic on defense to create transition opportunities. Settings like this make it easy to see why high-majors have prioritized Sutton already at this early stage.

It turns out that Sutton’s dazzling effort at the Palestra in a crushing championship game defeat will go down as his last PCL game, as the dynamic floor general announced he’s signed with the Overtime Elite program in Atlanta to be a member of the Cold Hearts. One of just two sophomores on the All-PCL First Team, Sutton was the engine for Roman at the point of attack, facilitating the offense with precision, knocking down open shots from the perimeter, and getting to his spots off the bounce when needed. He projected to be as dynamic a guard as there would be in the entire league this coming year as an upperclassman. Instead, Roman will look to a portal addition of its own to run the show (more on that below) as it looks to finds its way back to PCL supremacy.

No newcomer made more of a splash than Sutton, a nationally-touted sophomore guard who performed at an All-PCL level right away as Roman finished one win short of a PCL three-peat. Coming over from George School (PA), he acquitted himself immediately at the helm of a well-oiled Roman attack, turning defense to offense with his elite hands guarding the ball and quarterbacking like a veteran within halfcourt structure. While making strides in his maturity as a floor general, Sutton still found opportunities to mix in some razzle-dazzle with his vicious handle and acrobatic finishing ability. As he continues to hone his jump shot, which really came along down the stretch of the season, the sky is the limit for the two-way guard who’s already attracted a bevy of high-major offers.

Playing a near-perfect game at the point, Sutton displayed the blend of natural talent and evolving savvy that place him among the elite lead guards in his class nationally. Sutton pushed seemingly every right button, facilitating the offense expertly en route to an essentially mistake-free nine assists, many of which led directly to layups or open 3s. In typical fashion, he was dynamic turning defense to offense with at least 5 steals leading to a series of fastbreak buckets. Continuing a theme from the back half of the season, Sutton also showed his improved perimeter jumper with a trio of confident 3s. It was obvious to anyone looking on why the classic Philly guard has already attracted numerous high-major offers.
