Hooks transferred to Handley this past season after having a breakout season at Massaponax last year, and he’ll add a good punch to the reigning Class 4 state champs who lost some of their top players from last year. At 6’3” he has great positional size and is very good at getting to his spots in the midrange and hitting shots over defenders, he is shifty off the bounce and has good burst to get to the rim where he’s a good finisher, he has good feel as a playmaker, and he uses his size well to make plays on the defensive end too.

Hooks has good positional size and was a solid contributor for New World throughout the spring and summer. He is a capable perimeter shot maker with range beyond the arc and has a good feel for the game. Hooks also sees the floor well and is a good passer who can create scoring opportunities for teammates.

Hooks is a lead guard with good positional size who showcased his talent this spring while competing with New World on the adidas 3SSB circuit. He possesses strong court vision and does an excellent job seeing the floor, finding open teammates, and creating opportunities for others. A capable playmaker with the ball in his hands, Hooks understands how to run a team and make sound decisions in the half court. He is also a reliable perimeter shooter who can knock down open shots and keep defenses honest.
