About Kaleb
Expert Analysis

I really liked what I saw overall from the lengthy and bouncy young prospect, as Kaleb really looked to assert himself throughout this game. Kaleb did a nice job in attacking by scoring over defenders, using his athleticism well, but also showing he can be an offensive option from multiple levels. Looked comfortable stroking two three pointers at the top of the key. Kaleb provided positive minutes as a scorer, rebounder, and as a defensive presence for his team.

Kaleb was instrumental for KIPP as they used his performance to help carry them in a early win Saturday afternoon. Clark brought the passion and paint dominance that is expected from him at this point for his team. All over the glass against a smaller Kings Christian squad, and knew how to use his size to his advantage. Was able to use his height to see over incoming traps and make great outlets to start the break. He provided strong defensive stability in the paint and made his baskets in the paint look easy at times. Made a couple of smooth pullup J’s over the short contest that caught my eye. Looking like a smoother and more controlled player after his first season with KIPP Legacy.

We already covered Clark a bit in our breakdown of the Top 10 (linked here), but his play has been impressive and our scouts love his upside. Clark is a mobile, athletic W/F tweener that can attack his man off the bounce, rebound the basketball in traffic, and hit open C+S looks from 15′ and in. Clark plays with a scrappy moxie and is undeterred when matched up with more heralded/taller opponents throughout the HS or travel ball seasons. If he can continue to sharpen his ball-handling and perimeter shooting skills, we like his long term upside as a 3+D wing that can really fill up the box score.

-Clark impressed our scouts throughout this high school season as an explosive W/F tweener that did a lot for KIPP this season. He moves pretty well for a player his size, can really get off the ground, and plays with a motor at both ends of the floor that really accentuates his skillset. Love his activity on the glass and finishing ability in traffic as he is a young hooper that knows how to use his size to do his work early carving out space for rebounds in the paint. Want to see what he can do on the perimeter as a shooter and pass, also want to see if the handle can hold up while navigating space against guards because he already has success against wings.

Strong and aggressive driver that attacks with either hand effectively. Clark’s motor stayed on and because he embraced contact so well, he executed on “And 1” opportunities consistently throughout the season. Help led his team to runners-up finish in the DCSAA Class A Boys Championship this year. A potential D1 prospect. One to keep tabs of going forward.

Kaleb, a talented 6-5 freshman from KIPP DC Legacy Prep, has shown great promise on the basketball court. With his impressive size, he played stout interior defense, effectively protecting the paint. Clark also demonstrated good instincts on both ends of the floor, making smart plays and contributing significantly to his team’s efforts. Offensively, he showed to be a reliable scorer in the mid-range.

Clark was very active on both sides of the ball the whole game, almost too active at times winding up in some foul trouble late. But his energy and drive was incredible to see. He was after everything on the glass offensively and defensively, putting a lot of misses back up and starting the break on the opposite side of the court. He is very athletic and is growing as a playmaker, showed he could start the break off of his defensive rebound and take it all the way down if not confronted by defense. Caleb does not shy away from contact inside, and he very willing to defend. Takes his matchup personal, can see he puts his all into defending both on the ball or as backside recovery.
