Diehl left his mark on the game as a shot-maker on the perimeter. He has imposing size on the perimeter at 6’5″ with beanstalk like limbs. When he gets into a groove from three look out. He also was able to show that he can put the ball on the deck and maneuver to different spots. One of the best parts of his game is the way he sees the floor and finds other teammates for scoring looks. He positioned himself in good spots on the floor to rebound.

A third-year starter among typically senior-laden groups, Diehl has stepped up this season into a consistent double-figure scorer while helping the Eagles to an 11-6 start and positioning them for a run at a district title. The lanky swingman is at his best as a floor-spacer off the catch, where he’s been known to connect in bunches from beyond the arc. He’s a razor sharp passer and opportunistic ballhandler within CV’s movement-heavy system, while using his length and instincts to make up somewhat for his lack of strength and speed on the defensive end. Diehl could still stand to be even more aggressive in search of his own shot, but profiles as a plug-and-play option at the scholarship level with his shooting and IQ on the wing at his size.

It took sometime to see Diehl’s scoring ability tonight he cashed in on three 3 pointers in the 2nd half and finished with 11 points. I like his confidence when he gets into a scoring groove. He showed a flash of being able to use his post game when he needed to I wish he would do that more often. Diehl doesn’t let the ball stick to his hands and has a good grasp of the game. I want to see him try to become more of an alpha dog and take on more of the scoring load and defer less, I think when he does that his stock tends to lessen as a prospect.

Diehl is a sure fire Division I prospect. His long frame, fundamentally sound game, and deep range are all factors for why this is the case, and why the Mid-Penn should expect another deep run for Cumberland Valley. He has continued to improve steadily over his career and will have the ball in his hands more than ever as a junior. As he continues to grow into his body, Aiden is going to keep getting better every day and make the Eagles a serious threat for a 6A state title.

as they transition into upperclassmen. A rangy wing who thrives as a perimeter marksman, he’s a dangerous floor-spacer from deep with an outstanding feel for the game. He shows the ability to facilitate the offense within the confines of a system while smoothly letting the game come to him. While not the swiftest or most explosive athlete, Diehl uses his length and instincts to consistently bother opposing shots and shag rebounds. His size and translatable skillset make for a clearcut scholarship-level prospect with a chance to climb the D1 ranks given growth in his ball skills and overall aggressiveness.

After a breakout sophomore season in which he was a starter, Diehl (5 ppg.) has taken his game to another level this spring. For example, this past week Diehl was named as a standout performer at the Philly Spring Clash. In April and May, Diehl has torched the nets with his highly accurate three-point shooting. Diehl has been especially effective at running to spots along the arc on the fast break and then popping a transition three. Additionally, Diehl has used his athleticism, speed and finishing skills to generate points at the rim in the open court. Diehl has flashed the ability to score on straight lines drives too. Diehl’s size, agility and quickness make him an extremely switchable defender.
