Always enjoy watching Udo take the reigns for a team from the point guard position because of the mature pace, efficient decision making and the shot diet that translates well to the college level that the 6-foot guard brings to the floor. He’ll be a valuable addition to this KLow Elite roster who, when at full strength, has a chance to be one of the best shoe circuit teams out of Philadelphia. Similar to Gray above, Udo is the type of player who can mesh in almost any system because of his instincts. He understands when to get off of it as a primary ball handler, actively moves without the ball to make himself available as actions unfold and does a nice job of anticipating his attack as the ball is in flight to him. Defensively he’s solid and guards his position respectively, but it’s the offensive end where his command and poise can resonate through his team and make everything run fluidly.

Playing with several of his Westtown and AAU teammates, Udo was effective on both ends while running the show and helping keep his lesser-talented team in the game down to the final minute. The junior lead guard was effective in ball screens using his slick handle and increasing burst to knife his way downhill, but also showing he could drag defenders out to the arc and knock down deep jumpers off the bounce. He also showed his instincts on the defensive end as a consistent pest on his way to 6 steals. Udo continues to grow into his body and evolve athletically, giving him a higher ceiling to tap into given his established ability to control a game and make his teammates better.

The straw that stirs the drink for the Moose, Udo wasn’t called on for prolific scoring but nonetheless had the game in the palm of his hands for extended stretches at a time. A consummate floor general, he held up pristinely against ANC’s ball pressure, proving to be impossible to speed up as a ballhandler. Udo was effective getting into gaps in the zone off the dribble to spray out to his shooters for easy looks, and also showed to be an effective catch-and-shoot weapon himself when stationed off-ball next to the Moose’s other playmakers. His ability to run a team and manage his surrounding personnel should place Udo in high demand among high-academic D1 programs throughout the Northeast.

Westtown may be the state’s top team right now and while he may not generate the most attention, Udo is consistently the straw that stirs the drink for the Moose at the point of attack. He’s as pure a point guard as you’ll find in today’s game, controlling the game with his ballhandling and playmaking while calling his own number as a scorer when needed. Udo’s ability to consistently put others in position to succeed is exactly what Westtown needs given the level of talent that surrounds him, and should bode well for his translation to a winning role at the next level. There could also be some upside here if he’s able to continue blossoming physically in the years to come. He may not be the splashiest, but Udo brings a rare skillset that D1 coaches are sure to see value in.

Perhaps the key to Westtown’s season will be the continued development of Udo at the point, and despite a buzzer-beating loss on Sunday, his performance should leave Moose coaches and fans alike optimistic for what’s to come. Having gradually sprouted over the years from a pint-sized freshman who was thrown into the fire right away, Udo is a throwback-style floor general with his finger constantly on the pulse of the game. He was poised and healthily aggressive while handling Bridgeport’s relentless fullcourt pressure, expertly picking his spots to attack before getting off the ball at the precise right moments to set up his shooters. We’d like to see him be slightly more aggressive in pursuit of his own offense at times, but Udo’s prowess as a true lead guard with his developing physical tools make for a highly-intriguing recruit at various levels of D1.

12p 3a 1r 3s vs West Nottingham

Udo has grown at least 3 inches to put him over 6′ and the new size allows him to see the floor much better and navigate around ice ball screen coverages to keep his dribble alive in the halfcourt. Udo plays with phenomenal pace and vision coming off of ball screens, showing the IQ and understanding of rotations by immediately hitting open teammates. His best stretch started with a sweep and blow by to get past the big on the perimeter before hitting the floater. Udo followed that up with a great wrap around pass on the baseline to an open shooter before blowing by his matchup at the top of the key before hitting the reverse lay off the window just past the outstretched arm of the big. Truly believe that as he runs the show for a talented Westtown team filled with bigs and shooters, college coaches will begin to take notice of his advanced feel and ability to run a team.

58 to 45…This season Udowas the 6th man on a Westtown squad loaded with DI commits. Once he hit the floor, Udo (9 ppg.; 38 % from deep) served as a floor general who provided instant offense. For example, in late January Udo laced 4 triples on his way to 17 points during a win over Rocktop Academy. Udo also dropped 16 points (2 threes) on Mercersburg Academy. In addition to raining threes, Udo can create for himself off the dribble. Once he has gotten to the rim, Udo’s creative finishing moves enabled him to score among the trees. As a bonus to his scoring, Udo is also a point guard who did a fantastic job of getting his teammates involved. Whether it was on the fast break or in the half-court, Udo’s poise, quick decision making, and well-timed dimes produced easy buckets for teammates. On defense, Udo had a knack for picking pockets.

At the Pitt Jam Fest this 2027 guard prospect “played up”with PA Hoops Academy ‘s 17U squad and turned heads. Udo displayed a well round point guard skill set. He did a tremendous job of balancing his own scoring with working as a pass first primary ball handler. Udo splashed threes all weekend. He was especially effective popping treys after a crossover dribble. Udo also blew past defenders off the dribble for lay-ins and floaters. As a distributor on the fast break his decision making as well as live dribble passing were remarkable. Additionally, Udo delivered several precise kick out passes and dimes in pick-n-roll action.

Udo is the 6th man on a stacked Westtown squad and works as a primary ball handler for large stretches. So, he does not attempt the volume of threes others in this post fire off. However, his accuracy from deep is on par with anyone in SEPA. For example, last week Udo laced 4 triples on his way to 17 points as helped ‘Town defeat Rocktop Academy. He has recorded 3 or more made treys in several games this season. Udo is a point guard who excels at popping threes off the dribble. Plus, Udo thrives at draining long range jumpers off ball screen action. Udo also makes effective use of jab steps as well as crossovers to create space for a 3PA.

71 to 59…Over the first two months of the 2024-25 season, Udo has carved out a role for himself as an offensive sparkplug off the Westtown bench. For example, in December this quick guard and high IQ guard posted 16 points against Mercersburg Academy as well as 11 points against Compass Prep (AZ). Udo’s lethal 3-point stroke is his primary weapon. He has recorded 3 or more made threes in several games over the last two months. In addition to sniping triples, Udo can use his quick first step and tight handles to get into the paint for lay-ins, floaters and kick out passes. His ability to push the rock on the fast break for scores and assists is impressive too.
