teele is impressive in how he controls the tempo of the game, playing with patience and purpose on the attack while consistently touching the paint. He can score around the bucket and shows a strong in-between game, while also proving capable from beyond the arc. He moves the ball well and creates scoring opportunities for teammates, and has no issue turning defense into offense with his instincts and activity.

It wasn’t quite the 30-point explosion in the quarterfinals or the 23-point outing (including his 1000th career point) in the semis, but Steele nonetheless did more than enough to ensure Trinity would leave with its first state title in over two decades. The junior guard continued his torrid playoff run with 18 points, steering the ship from the opening tap as Trinity held on against a bigger and more athletic West Catholic lineup. Steele picked his spots from the field, taking only nine shot attempts, but was aggressive seeking out contact on his way to 12 trips to the line, helping to eventually foul out West’s star forward in the fourth quarter. His name is now forever etched in Trinity lore with a year left to further add to his legacy.

With the graduation of lead guard Owen Schlager and their other guards headed to school elsewhere, Steele becomes the primary ball handler for a Trinity team that will still have high expectations. Andre is a skilled guard that should still relish in search of another District 3 3A championship. He is a great on-ball defender who racks up steals with ease. His offensive game is solid and continuing to grow, where he thrives getting paint touches and making the right play.

Steele has had a very productive summer having evaluated him in a few different settings. He plays with a chip on his shoulder and never backs down from any competition. He does a nice job keeping himself in the mix and is a ballhawk finding different ways to obtain the ball on either end of the floor. Steele is a threat to put the ball in the hoop in different ways. Like the momentum he is building for himself headed into his junior year and is looking to be on of the best guard prospects in Central Pennsylvania.

The shifty Steele does a tremendous job bobbing and weaving his way through traffic to get to different spots on the floor. He did a nice job finishing around the bucket and had several acrobatic finishes. I like how he can change gears effortlessly. He showed he can convert through contact and allowed himself to extend scoring opportunities getting to the charity stripe. Andre has great command of the game and gets the ball to his teammates for scoring chances. Steele also found ways to alter shots. He is a guard who has scholarship prospect written all over him and should be one of the best guards in suburban Pennsylvania in his class.

The historic Owen Schlager era is over at Trinity and leading the program going forward will be the athletic and versatile Steele. Last season Steele was a Swiss Army knife guard prospect who averaged 10 points per game. Starting this weekend, he will be asked to carry significantly more of the scoring load for Trinity. Good news, Steele has the skills and IQ to handle that promotion. Steele provided a glimpse of that last year when posted 22-points (1 three) in the Mid-Penn Conference title game. Steele can score in the open court, pop triples and slash to the cup for lay-ins. He can also operate as a primary ball handler where his nifty handles create scoring opportunities for himself and teammates. When Steele gets into the paint and is looking to score, his solid frame, hops and finishing skills lead to crowd pleasing buckets.

Steele makes his presence known on or off the ball. He was really poised converting on shot from behind the arc. He shoots a clean ball from deep and if his feet are set good luck! He has good body control on the attack and found holes in the defense to attack. Steele left his mark at the foul line also. Steele should take a jump in Trinity’s offense this year and be a focal point.
