-Really nice flashes throughout the weekend from Brand as a wing prospect that uses his size and a soft touch to finish at difficult angles around the basket. Brand scored off of putback dunks, scored with either hand with floaters or hooks, knocked down perimeter jumpers off the catch, and has a pretty good feel for where the ball is coming off the rim to crash the paint at the right moments. I came away impressed with his feel and pace as a prospect that made deliberate pre-catch reads based off the defense to get right into his move as soon as he caught the ball.

A repeat sophomore by way of Woodward Academy (GA), Brand has made himself known so far in the region with an impressive perimeter skillset for his size. He impressed on Thursday, however, by using his size and budding athleticism to make an impact near the rim. Brand thrived as a cleanup man on his way to eight points in a tight loss to Peddie, showing strong hands and deft finishing touch. His emerging inside-out skillset and high-level bloodlines should have him emerge as a D1 prospect before too long as he continues to make a splash in a deep Westtown rotation.

Quickly emerging on the scene locally after relocating from Atlanta this past summer, Brand used the Pangos camp to fully announce himself in the region as he took home co-MVP honors by weekend’s end. The son of former NBA all-star Elton Brand, the younger Brand is still coming into his own but boasts an intriguingly versatile skillset with developing athleticism. He has the size and aggressiveness to make an impact near the rim but really caught the eye on Sunday with some impressive flashes operating off the bounce from the perimeter. We’ll look to see how he impacts things in more structured settings with a bevy of talent next to him at Westtown, but the bloodlines, physical tools, and base skillset make for an enticing foundation to build on in the long run.

The son of Elton Brand, Peace is a burgeoning prospect ready to make a name for himself. Standing around 6-foot-7, Peace a nice skill set as a stretch-forward. He spaces the floor with his jump shooting, smooth from the high post and accurate in the corners. Brand is mobile and uses his length well when guarding in the post or trapping ball screens. As he earns bigger minutes on the varsity level, expect his stock to rise.
