It’s been a steady build for Diabate, who we first spotted in layup lines for Westtown late last fall and has slowly built his way into a legitimate prospect in the time since then. Originally from North Carolina, Diabate started high school as a soccer player and transferred up to Westtown from Delaware at around 6’4″ with basketball as his secondary sport. He’s continued to grow while shifting his focus to hoops and gradually blossoming into an inside-out weapon in the frontcourt. Diabate shows natural shooting touch out to the perimeter with flashes of dribble-drive ability and the added wrinkle as of late of using his newfound size and evolving athleticism to put in work around the rim. While still early in his process of getting used to his body and adding on-court experience, it’s easy to see the long-term vision of a D1 frontcourt prospect down the line.
