With Kager, shooting runs in his family. With his size he is able to shoot right over his defenders even if they have a hand up. He has shown this in multiple tournaments with Team Herro and especially since playing against amazing competition, his teammates rely on him to be lights out. Even this weekend in Appleton with many college coaches watching him, he didn’t let it get to his head. He had many. games with 3 or more threes made and it’s nothing new. He lives from that three point line but he is also able to go and score at the hoop when defenders over play on him.

The steady progress Knueppel has made in his game throughout his high school days has been nothing short of outstanding. In every aspect of the game, Knueppel has worked hard to become one of the better high school players in America. His biggest assets are his size, perimeter shooting and ability to block shots near the rim. But he’s also a good passer and an improved on-ball defender. Ranked No. 33 nationally in the Prep Hoops Player Rankings, Knueppel has won three state championships at Wisconsin Lutheran and will look to make it four in a row in 2026-27. Duke, Michigan and Purdue are among the schools pursuing Knueppel the hardest at this point.

The leading scorer on one of the top EYBL teams who is one of the most efficient scorers in the country with positional size and a brother in the NBA seems like an easy sell for college programs and rankings sites but Knueppel is ranked outside the top 50 on Rivals, outside the top 80 on ESPN and outside the top 100 on 247 at the moment. To me this is one of the more shocking rankings in this class as Knueppel is shooting over 50% from 3-point range for Team Herro who sit at 9-2 and are one of the clear favorites to win Peach Jam. I’d expect Knueppel to be an impact player at the high major level early in his career.

Kager had a lights out shooting performance on Sunday in a win over Geek Squad out of Chicago. At 6’10 he was extending his range to well beyond the college court’s three point line, even hitting one from behind the volleyball line later in the game. He’s so difficult to match up with because he can simply shoot over the top of smaller wings. Try to defend him with a bigger forward though, and Kager showed the handle/change of direction at 6’10 to beat them off the dribble and get to the rim. He’s starting to look more and more aggressive on the offensive end, which could be trouble for the Wisconsin high school scene next winter.
