Expert Analysis

Delvito is up there with the state’s leading scorers this season, and it’s easy to see why. The 2027 guard is an absolute sharpshooter from beyond the arc, and had Catholic Central defenders constantly chasing him down out on the perimeter. Delvito was able to get free to drain six shots from deep in the win on his way to 27 points. He may not have the height of other top guards, but Delvito has a strong frame that helps him play through contact and pull in rebounds among taller players.

He is a good shooter as his percentages include 59 percent from the field, 71 percent from the line and 43 percent from three-point range. Messmer has a promising group of young prospects, and Delvito put in a strong performance to help lead them to a win over Brookfield Central on Sunday. The 5’10 guard is tough as nails defensively, pressuring the ball hard and picking his moments to trap the ball and force turnovers. Offensively he showed he can hit the outside shot, and is fearless getting to the rim and finishing inside. Wasn’t afraid to take big shots down the stretch in a close game.
