Donovan continued to have a very productive spring/summer, making plays on both ends of the floor running with MTXE Premier. Within the opening few minutes of the game Donovan hit a mid-range jumper, picked up two steals, and deflected another pass. He was extremely active on the defensive end, not taking a single possession off as he showed good lateral quickness to defend either guard spot. Composed finisher in transition with the body control to convert on some contested looks at the rim.

Calloway was one the most impressive 2027 guards I watched on Friday in Appleton. Calloway has a quick and explosive first step that allows him to get down hill in a hurry. When Donovan can create even the smallest of separation, he has great court vision to either pull-up, finish, or find a teammate wide open on the perimeter or dunker spot. Calloway is also a great outside shot maker as he sprayed several threes from really all over the floor, in the two games I took in on Friday. On the other side of the ball, Donovan is a disruptor with his ability to heat up his matchup and generate steals and deflections. Calloway finished with 23 points in his first game against Playmakers East Premier. Part of a talented Tosa East roster, Donovan is poised for a breakout senior season.

Calloway, coming off of a huge junior season, where he averaged 18.8 points for the Red Raiders, looks like he took yet another jump this summer. Not needing much space, to blow by his defender, Calloway had his way on Thursday again showing that he is comfortable scoring from all three levels. While not knocking down perimeter jumpers, Calloway was keeping his defender, on skates, getting downhill finding cutting teammates when not finishing through contact.

was one of the breakout players in the Milwaukee area from this past winter, and he continues to impress this spring with
ABC Young Lions
. He’s very clever changing his speed on the ball, and is ability to finish with either hand makes him so unpredictable when he attacks the basket. He can go straight into a defender to finish through some contact, or use a euro-step to create a bit of separation and finish high off the glass. Showed confidence in his jumper knocking down a three early in the game and forcing defenders to guard him tight out beyond the arc.

Donovan is fresh off of a breakout junior season at Tosa East, and looks to be continuing that run of play into the spring with ABC Young Lions . We’ve seen him have big scoring games, but on Saturday he impressed as a facilitator. He made quick decisions with the ball, didn’t over dribble, and found ways to get into the lane and force the defense to collapse on him. When he wasn’t setting up his teammates with quality looks, Donovan showcased impressive body control as a finisher that allowed him to get to the rim and score over size.

One of the more pleasant surprises of Friday evening, Calloway spearheaded a huge comeback for the ABC Young Lions in their 60-58 loss to Wisconsin Dynasty . Trailing by close to 20 points at points in the game, Calloway got hot in the second half, scoring the majority of his game-best 23 points after intermission. The Lions managed to cut their large deficit to one point on one occasion but just couldn’t over the hump to take the lead. Still, Calloway’s shooting, quickness in the open court, solid basketball instincts and highly competitive nature fueled the Lions’ impressive comeback.

is an explosive athlete who has the chance to put up some big scoring numbers for Tosa East over the next two years. He has the ability to play either guard spot, but excelled as a slasher on the wing in the game I watched. Calloway hit a tough pull-up jumper from the elbow area, threw down a transition dunk, and wiggled his way to the rim for a number of finishes off the drive. So slippery weaving threw defenders in the half-court, and then using his length and athleticism to rise up and finish. Those physical tools also help him on the defensive end where he can defend the 1-3 spots. He averaged 11.2 ppg last season as a sophomore.

Donovan was one of the most impressive players that I saw on Sunday. Bouncy offensive player that doesn’t need much space to blow by and finish at the rim. Can score from all three levels and is comfortable pulling from distance knocking down several long balls in the first game. He imposed his will defensively with quick hands which resulted in many steals that lead to transition buckets. He will definitely be a key contributor to ‘Tosa East this season.
