I have seen Ivy only in person two times this year, but I have been most impressed by his ability to relentlessly attack the hoop with ease. Ivy had 15 points, showcasing his ability from the midrange and to finish over defenders. The 6’1 senior is extremely difficult to contain once he gets going with a head of steam. Ivy is able to slow down his feet, euroing and side stepping defenders to efficiently score at the rack. Ivy, who moved into the Howard Sumaico School District earlier this year, is the Pirates’ leading scorer averaging just under 16 points a game for the season. AJ is very crafty, quick, and under control at all times. He is making a strong case to earn first team all conference recognition in the FRCC.
The catalyst behind Bay Port’s 8-2 start to the season, Ivy is a shifty, quick and aggressive point guard who can get into the lane to score or pop in three-point jump shots. The transfer from Romeoville, Ill., is leading the Pirates in scoring at 17.1 points per game and he also has made the most three-point shots on coach Nate Rykal’s talented squad. Ivy is a solid perimeter defender who also is contributing 2.9 rpg and 2.1 apg as the Pirates navigate the tough teams in the Fox River Classic Conference.
A sharpshooter with a knack for finding open space, Ivy moves well off the ball to spot up along the perimeter for quality three-point looks. He’s a strong catch-and-shoot threat from deep, forcing defenders to stay attached. His quick first step adds another layer to his offensive game, and he brings energy on the defensive end by applying pressure to ball-handlers. A three-point shooter that opponents can’t afford to lose track of.
Another Hopps4Health prospect playing up a level. He displayed exceptional footwork and ball-control throughout the matchup vs DistinXion. Allowed him to be an excellent playmaker. Also showed he can be a great shooter. Knocking down three 3-pointers in the contest en route to 15 points. H4H cruised.
Excellent footwork both with and without the ball. Knocked down shots from numerous spaces on the floor. Ended the first half of his opening 5v5 game with a 3-pointer at the buzzer. Passing was on/point. Accumulating tons of assists.
