Cook is a player who turned heads this Spring at one of our events, so I was curious to see how he’d look with his high school team, and he did not disappoint. Cook played well in both games that we saw him in. Cook scored on the block, hit a few shots from the high post, and showed he could be a playmaker with the ball in his hands. He was finishing inside, setting screens, rolling, and doing plenty of the dirty work down low. He’s one of the under-the-radar players who we feel is going to have some big moments this year, and he had plenty of moments at the camp.  This was a stock-boosting event from him that he could build off of, and he looked like one of the better bigs at the event. 

Cook is a big man with real physical tools who’s still figuring out how to put it all together. The size jumps out right away, and this weekend he was able to impact the game just by being around the rim. Cook alters shots with length, cleans the glass, and keeps possessions alive with second effort. There are moments where he speeds himself up, but when he settles in, you can see it starting to click. The foundation is there, and once the pace slows and the game comes to him, he’s going to be a problem. He was a solid prospect to watch.

Blake is a true stretch big with impressive mobility. He has a text book shot from the outside that seems like it will always go in. He is a above average passer for his position and has the ability to get others around him open shots. Blake has a underrated post game and can rack up points in a hurry from the paint. He is a mobile defender and can handle his own when switching on to guards. Blake can protect the rim and isn’t afraid to do the dirty work for his squad.

Coming off a productive summer with Colorado Collective , Cook is set up to succeed this fall with the Legend Titans.

Cook displayed a versatile offensive game at The Expo, showing the ability to score in multiple ways. He finishes strong inside, attacks the rim with confidence and secures rebounds to help fuel his team’s possessions. From the perimeter Cook can knock down corner threes, stretching defenses and opening up lanes for himself and teammates. One of his standout traits is his ability to get open, constantly moving off the ball and reading defenses to find scoring opportunities. On the defensive end Cook stays engaged with active hands and quick feet, contesting shots and staying disciplined in rotations. His effort on both ends makes him a well rounded player who can impact the game in multiple ways

With an impressive scoring bag on offense, Cook can make defenses pay if they fail to contest Cook when he’s shooting. At 6’4, Cook utilizes his length to cause havoc and get stops for his squad. Cook’s pacing is what makes him special, as it dictates the flow and speed of each game he plays in.

Attacking the paint and looking for his teammates, Cook has a scoring mentality that helps elevate his team.

Blake Cook Blake Cook 6'7" | PF Legend | 2027 State CO uses his frame at 6’4 to make an impact defensively. Cook is always able to contest shots in the paint and ensures his squad takes away a plethora of opportunities for opposing offenses.

Cook was a productive interior defender with Hardwood, actively contesting shots around the rim whenever possible. Bringing in good size and a constant motor to impact the glass, the forward has already shown his value as a small ball center when presented with the right matchup. His continued growth on the offensive end will be imperative to his success at the Varsity level in coming seasons. 

Cook’s active hands and assertiveness protecting the rim kept Hardwood competitive throughout the majority of their matchups. Bringing in a wide reach at roughly 6’4, the forward was tasked with defending the biggest opponents, holding his own in the post. Cook’s continued growth along the perimeter will be key to determining his upside at the varsity level, although his defensive motor and toughness cannot be overlooked.
