Clark’s rise has been more of a steady build than a sudden breakout. He gained momentum last summer, turned that into meaningful minutes during the season where he looked like one of the top players and then had to make shifts throughout the season. He shifted and adapted to his role despite it being a situation that not many players would be able to go through and kept contributing. HIs team won state and then he transferred but that’s not without having his moments this summer. He looked like a player that kept adding. He has solid size, he uses his length and takes advantage of smaller defenders around him, especially around the basket. Mason is fluid and he runs the floor well but can also create when given the opportunity. If Clark establishes himself early as a rebounder, interior defender and reliable finisher, the scoring opportunities should follow. He’s already trending upward, and a strong start could push his stock even higher.

Clark is a player who gained serious momentum last summer and carried that progress into quality minutes during the season. He made his name known again this summer, reminding us why he was a player we wanted to keep an eye on. Clark brings the size and physicality to dominate down low, while his ability to run the floor makes him a dangerous option in transition. He also brings a tough, physical presence defensively and doesn’t shy away from the challenge. The Expo gives Clark an opportunity to build on that momentum, test his interior game against quality competition and make another statement heading into the season

I liked his activity at the event, and with how tall and long he is, I like his versatility and way to impact the game with more than just his size. He can play guard and on ball at his size. He is also a playmaker who seems to be in every play even if it’s more than just scoring the ball, and that matters to me. Love how he impacts the game and continues to get better each time out. Like what I saw from Mason at the event. 

Mason is a player that we’re high on heading into the season for Lutheran as we’ve seen Clark throughout fall league and also at a showcase and the thing is he looks the part. He plays at varsity speed, has good size and is versatile. At 6’5, he’s a balanced, low-mistake wing who plays with poise and feel. He spaces the floor, shoots it confidently, and impacts both ends with his length and effort. Clark does the little things well, and his ceiling remains high as he takes on a bigger varsity role. Expecting him to have a big year where he can showcase his production.
