Regular season practice has started all across the Bluegrass state and scrimmages will start in the next month. I wanted to breakdown the top 5 college prospects and the top 5 teams in each region heading into the year. This should not be considered the top 5 overall players! These are the best college prospects in each region.

Region 5:

Top 5 Prospects:

[player_tooltip player_id='2380766' first='Davier' last='White'], Taylor County - The transfer from Evangel Christian has added multiple D1 offers already and has high major schools sniffing around early.

[player_tooltip player_id='1292861' first='Isaiah' last='Cochran'], Adair County - Cochran had a bunch of D1 offers before a nasty leg injury this spring. If he's 100%, more D1s will come calling.

[player_tooltip player_id='1902675' first='Jaylin' last='Craine'], Caverna - Holding offers from EKU and Jacksonville State, Craine is super quick with the ball and will have to do it all for Caverna.

[player_tooltip player_id='1123543' first='Hayden' last='Blakeman'], Green County - Blakeman has a bunch of help at Green County now but he's still going to be a tough cover for any regional team with his ability to score inside and out.

[player_tooltip player_id='1702596' first='Landon' last='Blakey'], LaRue County - Landon has a ton of potential and has become much more versatile over the last 2 years. With a big season, he could have D1 schools calling.

Top 5 Teams:

Green County - With an influx of talent from the East Coast, the Dragons have a lot more size and athleticism than last season. And [player_tooltip player_id='1587777' first='Jayden' last='Marr'] is a really underrated player.

Adair County - The region champs bring everyone back. [player_tooltip player_id='1130308' first='Connor' last='Loy'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1409548' first='Dawson' last='Gilbert'] combine with Cochran to make a tough Big Three.

Taylor County - White joins [player_tooltip player_id='1148607' first='Layken' last='Lyons'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1543591' first='Bryten' last='Close'] and several younger guards to make a roster that will be dangerous by March.

LaRue County - Blakey is really talented and Junior [player_tooltip player_id='1543598' first='Jagger' last='Mardis'] and Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='2634182' first='Michael' last='Harris'] should help LaRue compete for a regional title win and a birth at Rupp Arena.

North Hardin - The Trojans graduated a lot but they always have more talent coming down the pipe and Coach Baffour is one of the best young coaches in the state. They'll be fine by the time it matters.

Region 6:

Top 5 Prospects:

[player_tooltip player_id='1751496' first='Ferlandas' last='Wright'], Fairdale (2027) - Recently received his first offer (Morehead State) and should have plenty more coming if he reaches his potential.

[player_tooltip player_id='2429605' first='Jordan' last='Jackson'], Holy Cross (2028) - Speaking of potential, Jordan's is off the charts. Long term, he could be the best prospect in Kentucky.

[player_tooltip player_id='1543629' first='Dayvone' last='Harrison'], Jeffersontown (2026) - A transfer from Moore, Harrison is one of the best isolation scorers in the state in the Junior class.

[player_tooltip player_id='2438889' first='Kamari' last='Roberts'], Fairdale (2027) - Transferring in from John Hardin, Roberts is wired to score but is also a good facilitator.

Ben Tshaka, Evangel Christian (2025) - The biggest of the "bigs" in the region. Ben is a double-double threat every night out.

Top 5 Teams:

Fairdale - They're young but they have the most talent in the region and Coach Stinnett has a track record of success. If they don't win the region this year, they will be heavy favorites the next two years.

Jeffersontown - The cupboard is reloaded with talent through the transfer portal but need to see how all the pieces fit, long term. Their guards will be a problem for opposing teams for sure.

Fern Creek - They were good this summer but several players have come and gone since. Coach Sutton does a good job and will have his team peaking when it matters.

Butler - As long as Kevin Geary is the coach, they're going to overachieve and almost always surprise some people in March. If their young kids develop, they'll be set up for a couple of years of sustained success.

Evangel Christian - One of the hardest hit programs in the state by graduation and the transfer portal. Not sure what their roster will look like on opening night but Coach Miller gets his kids ready to compete and Ben Tshaka could break out this year.
