Way Too Early Class 3A Preview – 13 Players to Watch

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It has been a little over a month since we released our first look at the top Indiana High School Basketball teams for the upcoming 2026-2027 season. Now that the academic year is about to start, we've watched all of these teams compete in June, and we are entering a quieter period in our content calendar it seemed like a good time to revisit our earlier takes. Have our takes been solidified? Would we change anything? We did this with the top teams in each class and now will do it with the top players/prospects. Here are 10 of the best players to watch at the Class 2A level this coming season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:separator --> <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" /> <!-- /wp:separator --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2140444' first='Tarvar' last='Baskerville II'] (New Haven H.S. 2027) - A top player in the Fort Wayne area, Baskerville II returns for his senior season after leading New Haven to the Class 3A State Finals last year. He is a do-it-all guard in the Bulldogs' backcourt. Last season Baskerville II averaged 16.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2560420' first='Will' last='Davison'] (New Palestine H.S. 2028) - After a breakout sophomore season that him explode in the scoring column, Davison is set to have yet another monster year. The 6'4" guard is an outstanding shooter and all-around scorer.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2140342' first='Chace' last='Ford'] (Brebeuf Jesuit 2027) - Brebeuf Jesuit was one of the most impressive teams in June with a very strong showing at the Charlie Hughes Showcase. They feature an excellent backcourt led by Ford who is entering his senior season. His athleticism and physicality off of the dribble make him a very difficult matchup.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2140383' first='Jake' last='Grissom'] (Guerin Catholic 2027) - One of several very talented rising seniors at Guerin Catholic, Grissom led the way last season averaging 20.5 points per game and earning Indiana Junior All-Star honors. He will once again look to lead the Golden Eagles as their veteran squad should be one of the best Class 3A teams in the state.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2141019' first='James' last='Hughes'] (Batesville H.S. 2027) - Hughes had a monster junior season for Batesville High School and carried it over into a very good summer once he returned from injury. The skilled 6'4" left-handed guard is a great shooter, passer, and all-around playmaker.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2140328' first='Brandon' last='Hunter'] (Silver Creek H.S. 2027) - Hunter, a Belmont commit, enters his senior season as a Mr. Basketball candidate. The 6'3" point guard flirts with a triple-double nearly every time out as seen by his junior season averages of 12.0 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 10.5 assists per game. He could be the "best player on the best team" in Class 3A this season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2797660' first='Manu' last='Jackson'] (Marion H.S. 2028) - Now back at Marion High School, Jackson should be one of the top players in that area this season. The 6'5" wing is very gifted when it comes to athletic and physical tools. His two-way versatility allows him to toggle between several positions and he is a consistent matchup problem for opponents.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2445320' first='Isaiah' last='King'] (Garrett H.S. 2027) - This 6'6" forward is poised for a big senior season. He was fully healthy this summer showcasing his intriguing combination of size, strength, athleticism, and skill. King can rise up and dunk on you at the rim, stretch the floor out beyond the arc, and rebound at a high-level. Intriguing prospect to follow.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2539823' first='Drake' last='Sefton'] (Blackhawk Christian 2028) - One of the better two-way prospects in the Class of 2028, Sefton consistently contributes to winning. He has great positional size on the perimeter, impressive athleticism, and the ability to attack the basket off of the dribble at a high level. Sefton will be the go-to guy at Blackhawk Christian this season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2560357' first='Daniel' last='Selking'] (Bellmont H.S. 2028) - Selking is among the best shooters and pure scorers in Indiana's Class of 2028. He is a big time jump shooter with serious range and can get hot making increasingly more difficult three-point shots. The Bellmont High School rising junior will be one of the top scorers in the state this season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2413945' first='Mason' last='Trammell'] (Yorktown H.S. 2027) - One of the top stock-risers in the state this spring and summer, Trammell has played his way into a good deal of college attention. The Yorktown High School rising senior is so smooth and fluid athletically, an excellent jump shooter, and really talented passer.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2297505' first='Jaece' last='Vogt'] (West Lafayette H.S. 2028) - There aren't many shot-makers in the state like Vogt. The 6'6" sharpshooter landed a couple of mid-major offers this summer and should continue to see his recruitment expand. Vogt enters his junior season at West Lafayette High School as one of the top three-point shooters in the state.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2539928' first='Quintyn' last='Voltz'] (Princeton Community H.S. 2028) - He is one of the more talented perimeter playmakers and tough shot-makers in Indiana's Class of 2028. Voltz creates off of the dribble at a high level and does a good job of creating separation between him and his defender.
