Although he had a bit of injury troubles at times, he finished off the summer strong with Marlin Academy . He is a bigger wing that can score from the outside and as a driver as well. Small schools should be all over him as he heads into his senior season.

It was good getting to see Hughes suit up with Marlin Academy (P32) 17u in St. Louis and play against some high-level competition. He was a big part of their 4-0 weekend finishing the event averaging 13.5 points and 7.0 rebounds per game. The 6’4″ left-handed guard also shot 56% from three-point range. His combination of shot-making ability from the perimeter and playmaking ability as a driver makes him a very intriguing prospect for scholarship-level small college programs to follow this month and into his senior season.

The stats from his junior season told the story, but he has now since confirmed it with an excellent month of June with the Batesville Bulldogs. Hughes averaged 19.5 points, 7.1 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.8 steals per game as a junior before missing the spring AAU season due to injury. He shot 54-135 (40.0%) from three-point range during the high school season, but his passing ability has really popped this summer. The 6’4″ smooth, left-handed guard is a scholarship-level player. Hughes made one of the biggest jumps during this update from #118 to #43 overall.

This rising senior guard out of Batesville High School has wasted no time making up for missing the much of the spring due to a wrist injury. We’ve now seen him at the IBCA Top 100, at Super Hoopers, and on Friday at the Indiana All-Star Classic. Hughes is so skilled both as a shot-maker and as a playmaker. The 6’4″ left-handed guard finished with 18 points, 11 rebounds, and 4 assists on Friday.

It was good to see this 6’3” guard from Batesville High School play twice in a 24-hour span after not getting to see him at all in the spring due to a wrist injury. Hughes played very well once again at Indiana Wesleyan on Saturday showcasing his impressive skill level in the backcourt. The smooth, left-handed guard is a very good shooter from the perimeter but can also create for himself and others off of the dribble. He has proven to be a very good and willing passer in our recent viewings. Look for him to become one of the most sought-after small college prospects over the course of the rest of the summer.

After missing the spring due to an injury, it was very good to see Hughes on the court at the Top 100 Showcase. He certainly proved himself in a hurry and backed up his excellent junior season. The 6’4″ left-handed guard is highly skilled both has a shot-maker and as a passer. He will be a highly sought after small college prospect this summer.

It was an outstanding junior season for this 6’4″ guard. A smooth scorer from multiple levels, Hughes had one of his best individual performances of the season on Saturday scoring 28 points against Silver Creek. However, Batesville simply didn’t have enough firepower as they lost 92-77.

Batesville is right back to their winning ways after dropping a recent game to Class 1A Top 5 Hauser. The Bulldogs have quietly put together an excellent season running their record up to 16-2 after Saturday’s 77-53 win at Madison. Hughes, a talented 6’4″ junior guard, has been a big reason for their overall success this season. He finished with 39 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals while shooting an impressive 16-22, 7-10, 9-12 from the field.
