Brandon Ramsey | Prep Hoops Scout
After missing the spring due to an injury, it was very good to see Hughes on the court at the Top 100 Showcase. He certainly proved himself in a hurry and backed up his excellent junior season. The 6’4″ left-handed guard is highly skilled both has a shot-maker and as a passer. He will be a highly sought after small college prospect this summer.

. For the Bulldogs this season, Hughes has been extremely productive averaging a near double-double of 17.8 points and 7.8 rebounds while shooting an impressive 51% from the field. The 6’4″ guard/wing has good positional size, but can also really shoot it from beyond the arc. Small colleges out there should really keep an eye on him starting in February and into his senior season.

This 6’4″ wing has impressive positional size. He is strong, athletic, and bigger than a lot of opposing guards which allowed him to win some one-on-one mismatches on the perimeter. He had a slippery drive that he finished with his left hand inside during 5-on-5 action that really caught our attention. Look for Hughes to really break out as a junior at Batesville High School after averaging an impressive 10.3 points and 4.5 rebounds per game as a sophomore.

Hughes was one of our 2027’s to watch at the Prep Hoops Indiana Sophomore ID Camp and most certainly showed his worth here. He is a really long wing at 6’3″ and the Batesville High School prospect made a ton of plays off of ball screens and was one of the better off-ball scorers I saw on the day. Hughes is a very versatile wing that has a ton of good intangibles on the basketball floor. High ceiling for him.
