. A versatile forward out of Garrett High School, King has put together a strong spring and will look to carry that momentum into the first live period weekend. King is a 6’6 prospect with a lot of power, explosiveness, and athleticism on the floor. A very talented player all-around.

There are probably a lot of people that haven’t seen King in a year. He was excellent last spring, but only played in nine games as a junior due to injury. The Garrett High School 6’6″ forward has shown bounciness around the rim, skill out to the perimeter, and some impressive rebounding ability in the past. We are anxious to see him back out on court with UNRNKD 17u.

One of the top bigs in the in-state 2027 class is a 6-foot-5 powerhouse out of Garrett High School, Isaiah King. King, who has had a great showing with Ohio Buckets this spring, is big man with really high upside in this 2027 class. He has a little bit of old-school big type of game where he is not going to do anything flashy but he will overpower you in the paint and produce. Scores around the rim, defends the post, and rebounds his area extremely well.

King is one of my favorite players I saw all weekend thus far. He is an old-school throwback forward. There is nothing flashy about his game but he gets buckets at a high level. He is impactful in the post as a defender because he cleans the glass and plays so hard. He is a physical player and seems to play much bigger than he is. He is an explosive athlete with a wide strong build. He explodes to the rim for quick finishes. He can create for himself when needed but is the perfect player to drop it off to on the block as he has multiple different finishes he can go to. Just a tough and impactful kid that anyone would want on their team.

A bouncy, strong, athletic interior presence for Garrett High School, we continue to be high on this prospect as he gets older. King averaged 15.9 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per game as a sophomore. He has emerged as a Top 50 prospect in the Class of 2027 after previously being on the Watch List.

For whatever it is worth, King was our very last “cut” when getting down to our expanded Top 50 prospect rankings. That is a little behind the curtain information. The 6’5″ forward really impressed us the couple of times we saw him play up in Fort Wayne over the summer at GRBA events and then again at the Prep Hoops Indiana Sophomore ID Camp. His impressive combination of size, physical strength, and vertical athleticism makes him a highly projectable prospect. After being homeschooled as a freshman he will now attend Garrett High School.

King was one of the more physically imposing post players that we saw at the Prep Hoops Indiana Sophomore ID Camp over the weekend. The very powerful and naturally strong forward, King played very physically in the post. He even showed an ability to stretch it out a little and knock down a few impressive, tough jumpers. The home school product plays with a high motor and uses his big frame very well. King first burst onto the scene for us over the summer and continues to be a very intriguing under-the-radar prospects in the Fort Wayne area.
