No. 1 ... Wayzata holds off determined Nicolet

[player_tooltip player_id='1560867' first='Christian' last='Wiggins'] knew his future coaches at Iowa State, head coach TJ Otzelberger and assistants Kyle Green and JR Blount, were in attendance watching his every move. And the talented 6-foot-5 guard from Wayzata High School in Minnesota knew he couldn't allow the [program_tooltip program_id='2075965' first='Trojans' last=''] to drop two games in two days. West Allis Central beat his squad the day before so Wiggins took over and scored 34 points to help Wayzata overcome a determined Nicolet squad that got a huge individual game of its own from [player_tooltip player_id='1781157' first='Rashaad' last='Davis']. Davis, a bulldog of a 6-foot-0 point guard who is headed to Southern Utah next season, matched Wiggins with 34 points of his own for Nicolet and helped the Knights stay in the game with the nationally ranked [program_tooltip program_id='2075965' first='Trojans' last=''] until the final minute. Wayzata posted a 73-68 victory to improve to 10-1 while Nicolet, which has played a gauntlet of a schedule, slipped to 4-4. Wiggins and Davis proved their elite status among the best in their respective state with their memorable performances and gave a large crowd plenty to enjoy.

No. 2 ... De Pere goes into OT to turn back Neenah

De Pere and Neenah, two giants of basketball in the greater Fox River area, squared off at the WBY Shootout and the game went just about as one would expect. Two well-coached teams that work the ball, share the ball, take good shots and defend on each possession went into overtime before De Pere emerged with a 59-56 victory. Coach Brian Winchester's Redbirds improved to 6-0 behind a balanced attack that featured four players in double figures, led by senior [player_tooltip player_id='2400924' first='Noah' last='Maniscalco'] with 16, including five in the extra session. Neenah, which got a tip-in from junior [player_tooltip player_id='2389907' first='Jacob' last='Jungwirth'] at the end of regulation to force the overtime, was led by Bethel College recruit [player_tooltip player_id='2224527' first='Nick' last='Schultz'], who scored 12 points. Coach Lee Rabas used 10 players in the game as the Rockets slipped to 6-2 and had a six-game winning streak snapped.

No. 3 ... Slinger's [player_tooltip player_id='2398448' first='Joey' last='Kohnen'] goes off in win over Oshkosh North

The state's top-ranked class of 2028 prospect, 6-foot-4 wing guard [player_tooltip player_id='2398448' first='Joey' last='Kohnen'], torched the nets for 33 points as Slinger had little problem isolving Oshkosh North's 1-3-1 zone defense while posting a convincing 70-51 victory over the [program_tooltip program_id='2075852' first='Spartans' last='']. [player_tooltip player_id='2398448' first='Joey' last='Kohnen'], who scored off the dribble and from the perimeter, and his older brother, junior [player_tooltip player_id='2351190' first='Jack' last='Kohnen'], were able to pass over the top of the zone to get good looks at the basket. While [player_tooltip player_id='2351190' first='Jack' last='Kohnen'] finished with just seven points, his passing and poise against the Oshkosh North defense was instrumental in the Owls' success. Also big in Slinger's triumph was senior guard [player_tooltip player_id='1874955' first='Brett' last='Palm'], who scored 19 points for coach Alex Lavine's squad.

No. 4 ... Appleton North turns in stellar showing in win over West Allis Central

Appleton North is a mere basket and three-point shot away from being undefeated on the season. But a one-point, last-second loss to Kaukauna and a two-point loss to Yorkville Christian out of Illinois left the Lightning at 6-2 heading into the WBY Shootout. Coach Chris Kellett's crew had to enjoy the ride home to Appleton after getting impressive wins over Homestead and West Allis Central at Concordia. In the 74-72 win over previously unbeaten West Allis Central, Appleton North shared the ball and played with composure for the entire 36 minutes to get the hard-earned win. Even while playing its A-game, Appleton North had to survive a last-second 35-foot desperation three-point shot attempt from [player_tooltip player_id='2194435' first='Max' last='Jones'] before walking off the floor with the win. Winona State recruit [player_tooltip player_id='1561908' first='Grant' last='Hardy'] was exceptional for Appleton North as he scored 24 points while also making great decisions with the ball in his hands. Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='2447768' first='Matt' last='Rosplochowski'] added 17 points and Northern Michigan recruit [player_tooltip player_id='1561874' first='Nathan' last='Ramus'] contributed 14. West Allis Central, which registered an emotional win over Wayzata, Minn., on Monday, got 22 points from Jones and 14 from Caiden Alland-Davis. Appleton North did a nice job of keeping Iowa State recruit [player_tooltip player_id='2045256' first='Yusef' last='Gray Jr.'] in check, limiting the 6-foot-5 wing to 13 points.

No. 5 ... Catholic Memorial rallies past Pius XI Catholic

If you are Pius XI Catholic coach Dan Carey, you can't be too disappointed in the Popes' play, despite sustaining a 65-63 loss to Catholic Memorial. Pius XI did take a 33-24 lead into halftime so there is disappointment in letting a lead slip away. But Pius XI competed with toughness and energy for the entire game. Catholic Memorial, on the other hand, had a first half to maybe forget, but coach Kyle Johnsen's halftime message must have resonated with his Crusaders as they played well from the start of the second half with six different players making big baskets to fuel the comeback. Freshman [player_tooltip player_id='2795366' first='Karti' last='Calvert'] scored seven of his 13 points in the second half while senior [player_tooltip player_id='2496343' first='Jake' last='Pfister'] had nine of his 15 after intermission. [player_tooltip player_id='2140928' first='Jackson' last='Albee'] had all 10 of his points in the second 18 minutes while [player_tooltip player_id='2394688' first='Matthew' last='Goedheer'] contributed seven points after the first half. It added up to a satisfying win for CMH, which improved to 5-6.

No. 6 ... Kaukauna sharp in big win over Marquette High

Freshman [player_tooltip player_id='2402510' first='Drew' last='Bowers'] had a game he likely will never forget. The son of first-year Kaukauna coach Ryan Bowers, Drew buried seven three-point shots and scored 21 points for the Ghosts, who dominated from start to finish in an 89-63 victory over Marquette High. While Bowers was swishing shot after shot, the Ghosts also got a big outing from De Paul recruit [player_tooltip player_id='1561925' first='Andrew' last='Jensen'] as the 6-foot-10 senior forward scored 19 points, blocked a handful of shots and dominated the glass on both ends of the floor. Kaukauna, which moved to 7-0 with the win, made 14 three-point shots in the game and got 17 points from [player_tooltip player_id='2398517' first='Jonah' last='Roehrig'] and 13 from [player_tooltip player_id='2399831' first='Josh' last='Carl']. Marquette High was led by junior [player_tooltip player_id='2642421' first='Christian' last='Miller'], who had 14 points.

No. 7 ... Iola-Scandinavia parlays strong defense into triumph

Boy, was Iola-Scandinavia ever locked in on defense. Despite playing the 9:15 a.m. game, the Thunderbirds came out with fire in their eyes and guarded Columbus Catholic sharpshooters [player_tooltip player_id='2500034' first='Mac' last='Konieczny'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2509448' first='Ben' last='Weiland'] with energy and purpose for 36 minutes. The result was an impressive 52-37 victory a day after not playing well in a lopsided loss to Kettle Moraine Lutheran. The defensive effort put forth by coach Sam Bertsch's squad definitely was a catalyst for the Thunderbirds' victory as Konieczny finished with just five points while Weiland had just three. Meanwhile, junior [player_tooltip player_id='2542526' first='Korz' last='Loken'] led a balanced attack on offense for Iola-Scandinavia as the 6-foot-4 football prospect scored 12 points. Skilled junior guard [player_tooltip player_id='3020369' first='Alex' last='Zielke'] added 11 points and sophomore forward [player_tooltip player_id='3020370' first='Wyatt' last='Wolberg'] contributed 10. Junior [player_tooltip player_id='2509449' first='Carter' last='Sommer'] was impressive for Columbus Catholic, scoring 22 points while getting to the rim and scoring from the perimeter.

No. 8 ... Xavier uses balance to beat St. Thomas More

Xavier's gifted backcourt duo of [player_tooltip player_id='2434543' first='Logan' last='Ramczyk'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2616479' first='Kyler' last='Bleck'] is the No. 1 strength for the Hawks as both are potential all-league players in the Bay Conference. But the Hawks got solid contributions from some of their other players in a 66-52 win over St. Thomas More. Senior [player_tooltip player_id='2961786' first='Grant' last='Neumann'] had 13 points and 10 rebounds and junior [player_tooltip player_id='2509443' first='Caden' last='Schuler'] added eight points, four rebounds and three assists. Of course, Ramczyk and Bleck were also outstanding with Ramczyk scoring 17 and Bleck adding 21. Milwaukee baseball recruit [player_tooltip player_id='2641950' first='Brayden' last='Alivo'] led St. Thomas More, which trailed 30-21 at halftime, with 12 points.

No. 9 ... Kingdom Prep Lutheran handles Milwaukee King

Kingdom Prep Lutheran parlayed a 39-32 halftime lead into a 74-63 victory over Milwaukee King as [player_tooltip player_id='2631452' first='Myles' last='Zawacki'] netted 25 points and teammate [player_tooltip player_id='2832087' first='Ladarius' last='Finkley'] added 23. Both players were impressive for coach Chauncey Russell's squad with Zawacki sinking three shots from outside the three-point arc while also finishing above the rim in transition. Finkley also had three made three-point baskets for the Wolfpack. Milwaukee King got a strong outing from junior Demarko Wiley, who scored a game-best 27 points.

No. 10 ...
