Much has been expected of Konieczny since he came into his own his sophomore season while helping the Dons win the WIAA Division 5 state title. And the son of long-time Columbus Catholic coach Joe Konieczny has lived up to those expectations and then some. He earned Player of the Year honors as a junior in the Eastern Cloverbelt Conference and again ranks as one of the top backcourt players in central Wisconsin. A true leader as the Dons’ point guard, Konieczny is averaging 16.9 points per game and is a threat to score from downtown each time he touches the ball. Also a standout football and baseball player, Konieczny plans to kick for the Lakeland College football team and also play baseball for the Muskies following graduation from Columbus Catholic.
