There is a lot to be desired about Rosplochowski’s game and there is a reason why Northern Michigan offered him a few weeks ago. The left-handed prospect from Appleton North, is a smooth operator in transition and in the half-court. In the game I was able to watch, Matt was constantly probing defenses to either pull-up, get to the rack, or find his teammates for wide open kick out threes. It is very rare to see Rosplochowski make a mistake in these opportunities as he has an extremely high basketball IQ. Rosplochowski’s stock is rising and will continue to rise, as Appleton North graduated a good chunk of their scoring and Matt will take over the a lot of the scoring load for the Lightning next season. Matt is my early pick to win player of the year in the FVA next season due to his skillset, intelligence, and overall competitiveness.

Matt showed why he’s so highly regarded in Wisconsin’s 2028 class. The game just seems to come so easy to him, and he finds ways to produce with simplicity and efficiency. Matt doesn’t over dribble, and instead makes his mark with catch-and-shoot threes, or hard cuts off the ball leading to great looks at the rim. He primarily plays off the ball, but showed he can excel at times as a creator out of the pick & roll or in transition. He helped lead Team 1848 to a 4-0 record over the weekend.

Rosplochowski is coming off an incredible high school season in which he was able to help contribute to Appleton North’s first state appearance in school history. Rosplochowski is a dynamic three level scorer that is extremely crafty, physical, and hyper skilled. Matt was able to knock down some deep triples off of flare screens in their game against Team Compete despite pesky and physical defense. Rosplochowski, is also left handed and smooth off the bounce scoring at will at the rim, and finding teammates on dribble penetration. Matt finished with 17 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists in a 70-56 victory over Team Compete .

Rosplochowski is a very intriguing prospect for the Lightning. The leftie combo guard is fluid and explosive off the catch. Rosplochowski also impressed me on the defensive side of the ball as well getting deflections and heating up Neenah’s ball handlers on the perimeter. The 6’1 guard demonstrated his wide ranging skill set finishing the game with 15 points and scoring at all three levels. He had several tough finishes including a very crafty euro step in the half court that showcased his skillset to get to the rim. Rosplochowski has a ton of upside and is poised to have a fantastic rest of his season and club season coming up this spring and summer. The sophomore was averaging 17.0ppg coming into this contest after being named honorable mention FVA last season for Appleton North.

A young player on the rise in the 2028 class, Rosplochowski had 15 points and halftime and 20 in the game as Appleton North defeated Oregon, 65-48. The strong sophomore combination guard moved very well without the ball, cut hard to the basket, and finished through contact. He also swished all seven of his free-throw attempts. On a balanced team that features several players who will compete at the next level, Rosplochowski has very good instincts on defense and came away with four steals int he win over Oregon.

It’s always fun to watch players evolve and grow during their high school years. Rosplochowski played big minutes at Appleton North as a freshman, and earned his way into the Top 10 in the Prep Hoops Player Rankings. And now, he has grown a few inches, added some bunce and continues to knock down shots with the best of them. He had four triples for Team 11 in an outing against Team 12 while also delivering stellar passes to his teammates. He command of his team with the ball in his hands was impressive. He has become more than just a spot-up shooter and will be a huge piece for an Appleton North squad looking to have a big 2025-26 season under coach Chris Kellett.
