Bowers came in and set the tone early for the Ghosts in a packed gym in Kimberly. The 6’1 Freshman displayed his elite shooting ability and poise as a young prospect shooting with confidence. Bowers hit five threes off of kick outs and skip passes using his quick release shot. Drew also showed flashes of extremely impressive on ball defense harassing Kimberly’s guards near the half court line. As Bowers develops his strength and other parts of his game, he could develop into one of the premier players in the FVA and the state of Wisconsin.
Smart, skilled and savvy, Bowers has good length, a deft shooting touch and a very good understanding of the game. The son of new Kaukauna coach Ryan Bowers, Drew flashed very deep shooting range at the Prep Hoops Freshman Showcase, and he buried a couple of threes in a close game against Team 10. He also did a good job of keeping his head up with the ball in his hands and finding open teammates slashing to the basket or coming off screens. Defensively, Bowers has the length and mobility to make things hard for opposing backcourt players. A good all-around prospect who is mostly noted for his deep shooting range, Bowers likely will earn some varsity minutes this winter for the Ghosts.
