He was tough inside, using his frame to seal off defenders and dominate the boards on both ends. Offensively he converted rebounds into second chance points with strong putbacks and smart positioning. His length disrupted passing lanes and altered shots on defense, while his awareness and effort on both ends made him a constant matchup problem. Carpender’s ability to impact the game in multiple ways set him apart and made him one of the standout performers of the tournament
