Alexander continues trending in the right direction for me, and this weekend reinforced why there’s so much excitement surrounding his long-term upside. The athleticism has always been there, but now the game is starting to catch up. He attacked downhill with confidence, embraced contact, and used his strength to finish over defenders. I want him to be relentless in that as he puts a ton of pressure on defenders when he’s in attack-mode. Defensively, he remains one of the more versatile wings in the class, and that is where he should buy in the most. At the event, he comfortably guarded multiple positions, stepped down on the block against bigs, and altered guards shots at the rim. He’s turning into a complete player, which is scary because it still feels like he’s scratching the surface, which is what makes his progression so exciting to follow.

Alexander is a young player who hasn’t got a ton of varsity minutes, so everything you get from him right now is going to have to be a learning experience. With as much talent as they have around him, it is going to look very different for him, and this will be a year of taking everything in as a sponge, but also finding ways to be impactful and earn some minutes. At the UNC Camp, it was not the usual, best athlete on the floor Alexander that we see when he’s playing against his age group, and he can’t just get to where he wants on the floor and overpower players, so now it is about having a methodical approach and still using what he does have. Alexander is strong, moves well, and has size. So he should use that by being a pest defensively. Creek is balanced offensively with solid guard play and elite bigs, but still needs a wing defender who can defend multiple positions and attack when the ball comes to him. That’s where Alexander will make his bread and butter. If he’s able to lock in on that end of the floor and be a shutdown guy, that’s how he’s going to get the most out of his abilities. We saw those flashes at UNC camp; now it’s about putting more of them in. Alexander was one of the top young standouts at the camp.

Alexander may have as much natural upside as anyone in the group because the athletic flashes are real and they happen often. He covers ground effortlessly, gets to spots physically, and plays above the rim with ease. What really caught my attention was how much better he looked against stronger competition, especially defensively, where his instincts and recovery ability showed up. Alexander has been on a tear to start the Spring, and the ball seems to find him. Once the consistency, motor, and overall focus fully align, there’s a chance he takes a massive leap. If he continues to play as he has to start the grassroots season. I’m expecting him to be a big name to watch in the class. He’s making a huge jump in the rankings as this is his debut.

Alexander has a name that has been gaining traction, and he showed exactly why this weekend. With great size, strength, and athleticism, he put constant pressure on defenses and dictated the action. He got downhill with purpose, attacking the rim and finishing through contact while forcing defenses to collapse. His physical tools jumped out immediately, but it was his motor and intent that truly separated him. He played with confidence, embraced big moments, and made an impact every time he touched the ball. When he gets going, he’s tough to contain. Alexander’s blend of power, explosiveness, and presence makes him a matchup problem and a name that’s only going to keep rising
