The catalyst behind Tigerton’s 28-1 record and Central Wisconsin North Conference championship, Brady continued to take big strides in his game during the recently concluded high school season. The 6-foot-10 center/forward proved to be invaluable in a number of different ways for the Tigers. Certainly, his scoring (24.6 ppg), rebounding (12.2 rpg), passing (2.9 apg) and shot blocking (2.9 bspg) were game changers. Equally important, Brady helped his teammates by setting screens and catching and passing the ball ahead against full-court pressure. He has trimmed his weight while also continuing to overpower opponents in the paint with his size and soft touch.

With his team undefeated in 11 games, Brady is living large for Tigerton so far this winter. And his large frame is a huge reason why the Tigers are spotless. Brady is a manchild in the Central Wisconsin North Conference and his presence near the basket is often too much for opponents to overcome. He is averaging 24.1 points, 11.1 rebounds and nearly 3 blocked shots per game. In addition, the slimmed down Brady is shooting 68 percent from the field and 72 percent from the foul line for coach Dan Hoffa’s squad.

Give Brady a ton of credit. Post players don’t always get a ton of touches in a showcase event like The Expo. More often than not, the ball is up before bigs even get settled in the post. But Brady didn’t complain and ran the floor at a whole new level, thanks to the shedding of some weight and continued hard work on his body. At 6-foot-10, Brady can be unstoppable once he gets the ball on the blocks. His size and skill are just very difficult to contain. And he has learned to utilize his improved footwork to score with different moves near the basket. Another stellar class of 2027 prospect in the state, Brady is a player scholarship coaches at the collegiate level will be watching closely over the next 12 months.

James continues to put in work on his body, and was getting up and down the floor better than I’ve seen from him before on Sunday. At 6’10 he has a big frame in the paint that allows him to shut down opposing forwards on the block. They can’t move him to establish deep position, and he does a great job of walling up to force difficult shots. On the other end he’s patient establishing deep post position and creating angles for high percentage looks on the block. Soft touch to finish over the top of length.

James recently made the jump up to play with All Wisconsin’s 17u team, and the 6’10 junior was still able to produce at a consistent level inside. There just aren’t many defenders who can hold their ground against him on the block, as James was able to establish deep post position and simply finish over the top of them inside. It got to the point where Team Blaze Select switched to a zone defense just to try to prevent him from touching the ball inside. He played a key role in All Wisconsin’s big win on Saturday morning.

Brady’s game is starting to catch up to his body. And that’s good news for the All-Wisconsin club program and Tigerton High School squad. There isn’t an aspect of the game Brady has not improved over the past 12 months. He has shed weight to make it easier to run the court. He has learned to keep the ball up high while rebounding. And he is beginning to master the footwork required to score at a high level in the post. Additionally, Brady is a solid passer out of double teams and is a roadblock for opposing players trying to get to the rim. Brady’s soft jumper in the lane is tough to deal with and his ability to use the backboard when finishing moves toward the basket is nearly unstoppable for smaller defenders.
