Arcand’s poise, physical strength and skill level are all keys for Clear Lake, which has won 14 of 20 games under coach Jason Sargent during its first season in the Dunn-St. Croix Conference after previously competing in the Lakeland West. Arcand leads the Warriors in scoring at 20.1 ppg while also pitching in 5.3 rpg and 3.2 apg. He gets to the foul line often as he can penetrate to the basket and either finish or get fouled. Through the first 18 games of the season, Arcand had made 89 of 106 foul shots for 84 percent. He also recently surpassed 1,000 career points with the Warriors.

Arcand is an incoming sophomore who has already proven himself to be a scorer, as he led Clear Lake in that category in his freshman season. While watching from the sideline, I was told that he works hard at his game and that showed in his performance at the shootout. He stood out to me even before I was informed of his youth. Caleb has an athlete’s build that I can only assume will continue to grow over the next few years. He is a smooth ball handler with good takes to the hoop. He doesn’t always convert on his drives, but as he grows and becomes stronger, I have a good feeling that will change for the positive.
