McConkey, a sophomore for West Salem HS, who plays for the Wisconsin Playmakers , had a big night. With a number of players out for the Panthers, McConkey made an asserted effort to take up any slack on the offensive end. I saw him in two games in which he drove to the hoop aggressively to rack up a significant quantity of close-range buckets. He also hit from three on several occasions during the course of the two games. McConkey was also very active on defense, creating some turnovers and earning steals. At 6’2″, he has the height to be an effective rebounder. Drew uses his basketball acumen to position well and take advantage of that fact and was a contributor in that facet of the game as well.
