A great way to sum up Kolstad’s game with one word is composure. Cam was impressive in his ability to stay composed despite some pretty gritty defense by Kimberly. Kolstad does a great job of reading screens in Marshfield’s five out system by curling, back cutting, and slipping to the basket for easy buckets. Cam is a strong and crafty finisher that uses his body extremely well for his size. Kolstad scored from the paint, the midrange, and is a talented shooter from the perimeter. A handful of D3s were evaluating Kolstad who has a roster spot offer from UW-Stout thus far.

There is a lot of talent on the P32 Playmakers 17u team, but one player that was consistently terrific this weekend was Cam Kolstad. Kolstad has great poise with the ball and took care of it against a very scrappy MN Fury Zurn club team. Kolstad has a quick first step allowing him to probe to the basket, while making the correct reads. The most impressive part of Kolstad’s game is his ability to shoot. Cam has a very quick release and great hand positioning to get shots off quickly. A hustler on the defensive end, Kolstad plays an important complimentary role for the Playmakers. The six-foot-two prospect out Marshfield, has played with some talented players on the Tigers, and he is in line for more scoring responsibility and being the “main guy.” If Kolstad can continue developing, he is on the right track to being another highly successful guard out of Marshfield, poised for a big senior year.
