McDonald, originally from Colorado, has been a welcome addition to the Newman School this year. Offensively, he does most of his damage by the rim, but has shown flashes of floor spacing potential when his feet are set. He is a good passer, especially from the high post and at the top of the key. Defensively, he’s capable of moving laterally to guard on the perimeter and does a good job as a weakside shot blocker. He’s an impressive outlet passer who can really kickstart the fast-break off of a defensive rebound.
