A quick-twitch, tough-nosed guard with blazing end-to-end speed, Bolding gets downhill and pushes tempo in a similar manner that Russell Westbrook did throughout his career. There's a reckless abandon to is game and approach that puts constant pressure on the defense when the ball is in his hands. Still wired as more of a score-first lead guard at this stage, Bolding has shown progression with his floor vision and willingness to make higher level reads off dribble in recent months. He's a tenacious defender who can pressure the ball for a full duration of a game. The senior floor general returns with similar aspirations coming off a spring/summer with [program_tooltip program_id='2458561' first='Global' last='Squad'] that had its share of positive spurts where growth was evident within his skillset. He's improving as a true game manager when he needs to adjust the style/tempo of the game based on advantages that his team holds in a specific matchup. Not forcing the issue such as fitting a pass in small windows, settling for tough shots or getting lackadaisical with the ball against pressure have all been slowly eliminated from his game over the last six or so months. He keeps the defense honest with a balance scoring ability, which makes him an equipped threat in ball screen actions. For St. Mary's Annapolis, much of the playmaking from the guard spot will come from Hall, who has shown he's capable of putting up impressive scoring numbers as a shooter that can fill it up quickly from deep. The confident southpaw uses the gravity that his three-ball demands to attack closeouts or top foot of his defender in isolations to expose driving lanes where he taps into effective change-of-pace dribbles until he settles into a mid-range jumper or crafty layup high off the glass. Not only did he prove that he could handle things as a primary ball handler in pressure-filled environment, but he maintained his strong outside shooting presence that allowed the Mustangs to force overtime where it took a miraculous buzzer beater to upend them. He'll likely split on-ball duties with Scott as the two form arguably one of the top backcourt duos in the Maryland Public School landscape, but in stints last season Mensah was leaned on to run the offense and did so successfully. He can play the role as a table-setting point guard who uses his instincts and manipulates the defense with his eyes to open up plays for others. He's crafty on the ball to create space or alleviate pressure and uses his tight handle combined with effective change-of-pace attacks to keep his defender guessing. He may have to take on a bit more scoring than in years past for Winston Churchill this season, but the way he garners college attention is by managing the pace of games and making life for those around him easier. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
