Expert Analysis
Tom Keller | Prep Hoops Scout
McCullough touched the paint at will and was able to score around the bucket throughout the game. He led the Blue Storm with 20 points in the loss. McCullough also made the most of his chances at the foul line. He is very effective attacking closeouts. I like McCullough’s timing to gather steals and uses his smaller stature to obtain them effortlessly.

McCullough is a speedster guard who can touch the game in many different ways and fills up the stat sheet with his play. His hustle allows him to keep possessions alive. He spends a lot of time at the charity stripe and makes a high percentage of his shots from there. His speed allows him to speed up defenders to cause steals. He also has good grasp of the game and can set his teammates up with his playmaking. I would like to see him be more consistent from behind the three point line.

He may not pass the eye test as the smallest player on the floor, but McCullough’s impact was undeniable as Team Northeast nearly pulled an upset over BABC in the 16U semifinals. A dynamic lead guard, he uses his blinding speed and inherent court sense to impact both ends of the floor. He excels getting north-south off the dribble with his head always up looking to advance the ball to an open teammate. McCullough is a pest on the other end using his quickness to speed up opposing guards with his ball pressure. Still just 16 years old and now entering the 2027 class, the Rochester native looks to be a true winner with the chance to man the ropes of a college program down the line.
