For me personally, Duncan’s stock continues to rise. Not only did he play a huge role in Springdale capturing the MDPSBBT state hardware with clutch plays, busy box scores and intangibles, but he continues to refine his skillset and mold himself into a valuable role player when projecting towards the next level. Duncan brings size at 6’5″ and is no strangers to guarding four different positions with competency at the HS level. Offensively, his mentality of doing the little things has steered him into a low-maintenance option who can take advantage of his opportunities efficiently.
What was best about his performance yesterday was his three-point shot and it all stems with is spatial awareness when he doesn’t have the ball. He’s a timely cutter when guard dart baseline, but yesterday he was acting as the lift man on drives towards the middle or flashing up from the corners when his defender turned their head in help. Both occasions resulted in kick-out three’s that Duncan buried with confidence and if he can sustain those results on his free looks from beyond the arc, the stock will rise even more.

Duncan makes the jump from No. 28 to No. 23 and it was due to his impact on winning while embracing his role as a versatile forward who can realistically defend four different positions at the high school level, leave his mark on the box score in a handful of categories and the progression of his overall skillset. His athleticism comes to light in the open floor by way of dunks, lobs or chase down blocks. His worth in the half court offensively comes from timely cuts, keeping possessions alive with offensive tip-outs or, as he showed in MDPSSBT play, converting crunch time three’s when his team needs them most.

Duncan is a similar archetype to Carpenter above as a hybrid forward with a low-maintenance, highly productive approach. He frequents above the rim finishes in the fashion that demands the gym’s attention. Whether it’s in an open floor setting or in a designed lob play, Duncan is looking to supply highlights while airborne. He’s also valuable on the offensive end without the ball as a cutter, crashes the offensive glass with purpose and can serve as a true connector overall. Over the last year and a half, Duncan has become much more consistent with his effort at both ends and the box score results are following. He typically gets assigned the opposing team’s best perimeter threat, especially if that player is at either forward position, but can defend shifty guards effectively in space as well.
Duncan finished S2 averaging 11PPG and 3RPG.

Another prospect’s stock that rose significantly due to his impact on winning was Duncan. The 6-foot-5 wing can fit multiple roles as his versatility extends over four positions at the high school level. Particularly on the defensive side where he can be a pest in passing lanes, a massive presence on the glass when he’s dialed in and a threat as a weakside shot blocker, Duncan’s contributions down the stretch were on the same wavelength of importance as Green’s mentioned above. He was awarded All-Tournament Team for the Maryland Private School State Tournament averaging a double-double of 13.5 points and 11.5 rebounds per game with 48/67/83 shooting splits. His meteoric rise from 75 to 35 was well-deserved with his overall progression, production and skills that translate when projecting to the college level.

Continuing to thrive in a valued Swiss-army role on the wing, Duncan did a little bit of everything on his way to a stat-stuffing performance and narrow win. Duncan was efficient in a complementary role, scoring 17 points on 6-for-9 shooting. He was effective early on as a slasher and cutter in the halfcourt, before stepping out later on for a pair of key 3s, including one to tie the game in the final minute. He showed his athleticism with an explosive alley-oop finish late in the game while staying active on the margins on both ends of the floor as a versatile two-way connector. His ability to touch the game in multiple facets, combined with a strong and athletic frame, should make him a coveted prospect up to the D1 level over the next year.

Safe to say that Duncan has demanded a comfortable boost in the next 2027 rankings update with his play throughout the state tournament. In both the semifinal round and in last night’s game, Duncan canned three pointers in the final minute that ultimately helped Springdale win both contests. Other than the triple that lifted Springdale to the state title, Duncan was valuable around the bucket on drives where he played through contact while maintaining balance and soft touch. He had great awareness of weakside defenders or others recovering to attempt to pin his layup against the glass and utilized pump fakes or used reversals to get clean looks. He was a man on the glass and as he established paint touches on drives, did an nice job of spraying out to open shooters as his stat line would indicate. The 6-foot-5 junior scored 14 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and recorded five assists.

-Really well-rounded performance from Duncan in a 2OT win over PGCA. Duncan’s tenacity on the offensive glass and vertical leaping ability were a real weapon in this one to impact winning for the Lions. Duncan executed a well-timed face cut to secure a catch in traffic after landing on 2 feet to stick the and1 lay, caught a pocket pass off the BLOB and parlayed it into a power hop across the lane for the and1 lay, flew out to block a three, and closed out several key positions in the extra frames with defensive rebounds. Loved his motor from start to finish in this one and think he has an opportunity to play his way into a scholarship as the perimeter skills continue to develop.

Duncan brings a lot of tools to the table that would catch the interest of college coaches and evaluators. He has positional size for the wing at 6-foot-5, a frame that appears will fill out nicely once in a college conditioning program and has put together highlight plays above the rim this season alone that pop. Springdale will once again be in the thick of things in the MPSC as they’ve gotten off to a 14-3 start to the season. Duncan’s role has fluctuated a bit, but he’s adjusted nicely and when he approaches the game with allowing his defense to create opportunities on the other end. The key with Duncan is consistency and polishing his decision making off the dribble. If he can improve in both of those categories, his chances of living up to being a scholarship level prospect rise significantly.

Duncan was another prospect who finished with a nice number in the scoring column, but struggled in terms of efficiency. In the up-tempo affair his athleticism played a role in the amount of opportunities he got around the bucket as a result of sprinting the floor. He was much more sure-handed finishing with his right compared to his left in this particular viewing. He stayed persistent and as a result, registered 15 points in the victory.

Walked away from Duncan’s performance really pleased with how dialed in he was to both sides of the floor. There’s no doubt that the measurables and athleticism with Duncan can translate to the DI level, but the consistency and overall polish need to remain at the level that it was in last night’s win in order to gain legitimate momentum in that conversation. The hybrid forward’s versatility was on full display as he presented as an active two-way impact with a stat line to back it. Duncan had his usual high-flying finishes in transition, hit a few mid-range jumpers after making sharp cuts to the high-post against the zone, and showed his soft touch on a few floaters en route to 15 points, five rebounds, and four assists.
