SEPA Mid-Season Top 10 Public School Teams

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>With the PIAA schedule deep into league play games, now seems like a suitable time to present the latest edition of the Top 10 southeastern Pennsylvania public school team rankings.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>1. Central York:</strong> There is a new No. 1 squad as on Saturday Central York (defending 6A state champions) took down then No. 1 ranked Imhotep Charter (defending 5A state champions). After the 79-70 win over Imhotep, CY's record now stands at 13-1. In that victory power forward [player_tooltip player_id='1271440' first='Ben' last='Rill'] posted 19 points. How this elite two-way big man remains uncommitted is a mystery. Point guard [player_tooltip player_id='1287319' first='Ben' last='Natal'] (handful of DI offers) scored 18 points and shooting guard Ryan Brown netted 15 points. This season CY is also getting significant contributions from two-way combo guards Saxton Suchanic and [player_tooltip player_id='2047667' first='JoJo' last='Woodard'] (Penn College commit) as well as [player_tooltip player_id='2336886' first='Brooklyn' last='Nace'].</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>2. Imhotep Charter:</strong> The defending 5A state champions stand at 12-5, but their only “local” losses are the above-mentioned setback at the hands of Central York as well as a December loss to PCL favorite Father Judge (No. 1 ranked team in area). However, ‘Tep's depth has shown up in recent weeks as point guard [player_tooltip player_id='1613878' first='RJ' last='Smith'] has played incredible ball. Combo guards [player_tooltip player_id='2427215' first='Kevin' last='Benson III'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1611931' first='Kody' last='Colson'] have scored at all three levels. Senior wing prospect [player_tooltip player_id='2047550' first='Carnell' last='Henderson'] continues to prove he is a DI player.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>3. Upper Dublin:</strong> After losing their season opener to Lower Merion, UD has now won 16 straight games. Included in this ridiculous win streak are impressive wins over La Salle, Coatesville, Cardinal O'Hara, Plymouth Whitemarsh and Spring Ford. Three-levels coring guard [player_tooltip player_id='1269299' first='Ryan' last='Mulroy'] is averaging 16.7 ppg. over their last three wins. [player_tooltip player_id='2047682' first='Idris' last='Rines'] continues to showcase his stretch-4 prospect skill set. Versatile point guard [player_tooltip player_id='1888851' first='Kobe' last='Bazemore'] has made significant contributions as has wing prospect [player_tooltip player_id='2633181' first='Justin' last='Ragsdale']. Also stepping up for UD has been 3-point sniper [player_tooltip player_id='2916973' first='Noah' last='Cohen'] and 2027 prospect Horace Jackson.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>4. Coatesville:</strong> The Red Raiders have raced out an 11-2 start with their only in-state loss coming to Upper Dublin. Freshman shooting guard [player_tooltip player_id='2485359' first='Colton' last='Hiller'] has been sensational this season. This past week Hiller splashed 4 threes on his way to 21 points in a win over Bishop Shanahan. [player_tooltip player_id='1576717' first='Larry' last='Brown'] is a long and athletic small forward who has been a matchup issue for opponents. The backcourt duo of [player_tooltip player_id='1379430' first='Amon' last='Fowlkes'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1874234' first='Nasir' last='Williams'] push the fast break for scores as well as assists and score at all three levels in the half-court. &nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>5. Plymouth Whitemarsh: </strong>“P-Dub” has jumped out to a 12-4 start with their three in-state losses coming against PCL contender Monsignor Bonner, as well as Coatesville and Upper Dublin. They have racked up quality wins against Neumann-Goretti, Samuel Fels, Methacton and Cheltenham. He recently knocked down 6 threes as he poured in 36 points (4 threes) in win over Abington.
