Wednesday was jam-packed with a great slate of games and I stuck around to watch about seven games on the day, most of which were highly competitive. From top performers to top skill guys, and a handful of rising under-the-radar talents, I came away with plenty of names to know. Here they are, in today's update from the Curtis Summer League.

Top Performers

[player_tooltip player_id='1685506' first='Will' last='Nasinec'] | F | Puyallup | 2026

Nasinec came on in the second half of their game with Annie Wright, being aggressive with his touches and really looking for his shot. He's a notable big in the 2026 class because of his natural feel for the game which was on full display yesterday evening. He was able to make key passes from the top, he sees the ball well off the rim to rebound and tip balls out and even showed some good touch from 3-point.

[player_tooltip player_id='1463084' first='Isaiah' last='Sonntag'] | G | Puyallup | 2024

The junior guard was able to be a little more reserved on the offensive end, thanks to a big game from [player_tooltip player_id='1696693' first='Drew' last='Jones'], but he is still their guy when they need a big bucket. He's got a great array of moves in his bag and between his handle and footwork, he's able to go quickly and smoothly from dribble to shot, sinking tough buckets from every level.

[player_tooltip player_id='1696693' first='Drew' last='Jones'] | G | Puyallup | 2025

Jones was one of the star performers of the day. He did it mainly getting into the paint, either going all the way to the rim and finishing in a myriad of ways, or pulling up short to drop in floaters and runners. He was able to get by his man virtually all game against the Gators, making quick and decisive decisions with the ball, leading to a highly efficient scoring performance.

[player_tooltip player_id='1450980' first='Martin' last='Kaupanger'] | G | Annie Wright | 2025

Kaupanger is a super-talented scoring guard but what really impressed me yesterday was his strength. He got to the line time and again as well as finishing through fouls for some old-fashion 3-point plays. He showed great burst to the rim and the ability to shield the ball on drives through traffic. He's cash at the free throw line and spurred some nice runs to keep the Gators in the game.

[player_tooltip player_id='1850302' first='Reggie' last='Lester'] | G | Annie Wright | 2025

Lester might have been the most explosive player on the floor against Puyallup. His stop-and-go in the mid-range and blow-by ability in one-on-ones was incredible. He's a super-strong guard with a little Dion Waiters in his game and took the ball a lot late in the game to make things interesting.

[player_tooltip player_id='1984467' first='Cole' last='Browne'] | G | Gig Harbor | 2025

Here's a guy that continues to impress me more and more. He's got a good bag offensively and scored from all levels last night. He didn't force much and kept the offense flowing as the Tides moved the ball exceptionally well. That being said, when lanes presented themselves he didn't wait to attack. He gets going downhill in a hurry and is a strong, smart scoring guard who also showed some good defensive effort when matched up with [player_tooltip player_id='1450488' first='Cade' last='Orness'].

[player_tooltip player_id='1601813' first='Michael' last='Masini'] | F | Gig Harbor | 2026

The 6-foot-7 freshman big man was outstanding for the Tides against North Kitsap last night. He was active on the glass, showed some capable handles operating on the perimeter and in transition, and was strong taking the ball up inside. He made some big plays on both ends of the floor and stayed ready and active while on the floor. He's a fluid kid for how big he is and also was able to capitalize on trips to the line, knocking down the freebies.

[player_tooltip player_id='1485586' first='Kenyon' last='Simmons'] | G | Timberline | 2025

It was a grind for Timberline offensively against Puyallup, and Simmons was no exception. The normally dominant paint presence saw Puyallup defenders every way he turned inside and was forced to play through a lot of contesting hands in the paint. Although it wasn't his normal offensive performance early on, he showed an ability to impact the game in other ways, playing tough defense on guards and posts, as well as an ability to shake off misses and keep looking for his shot.

[player_tooltip player_id='1450488' first='Cade' last='Orness'] | G | North Kitsap | 2024

Just walking in the gym and seeing Orness out there, you have to think, "that's a dude." He looks like he's pushing 6-foot-6 out there and still remains one of the smartest players in his class. He had to handle quite the load on offense without [player_tooltip player_id='1450502' first='Harry' last='Davies'] out there, but Orness is the kind of player who always seems to elevate his teammates. He attacked mismatches, finished high and strong at the rim, and caught a little flame with the jumper late in the game to keep the game within reach.

[player_tooltip player_id='1984465' first='Jabari' last='Preston'] | G | Spanaway Lake | 2025

Preston was on a heat check almost all game, and even so, didn't seem to take a bad shot. He's a really strong guard that creates space well in the mid-range and has supreme touch on his pullup. He managed to hit a few three-balls as well and was the engine behind the Sentinels' offense.

[player_tooltip player_id='1685502' first='Darius' last='Alexander'] | G | Spanaway Lake | 2026

Alexander took a little bit to assert himself, but when he did start going he was hard to stop. The point guard started off with a corner three, then followed it with a nice bounce pass all the way from the perimeter to the other side of the hoop for an assist. From there he really took off. He was diming guys up, making plays with the dribble when he had to, and splashing in threes in between. He showed some real fighter qualities and seemed to play confident and stress-free.

[player_tooltip player_id='1451031' first='Treyshawn' last='Weatherspoon'] | G | Rogers (Puyallup) | 2025

The Rogers point guard is a blur out there. He's almost like Houdini how he just appears wherever the ball is. He was flying around all game, showing great burst to split defenders and get to the rim, hitting some threes, and really exhibiting fantastic anticipation to get the jump on everyone else.

Under-The-Radar Risers

[player_tooltip player_id='1863244' first='Mason' last='Sonntag'] | F | Puyallup | 2026

This kid has some major potential as a two-way player who adds versatility to both sides of the court. His size played well inside, helping to stifle some interior scoring against Timberline by staying big and grounded. He got a fair share of blocks on the day and has good hands to tip passes. Offensively, he hit the glass hard and showed some great playmaking potential and the ability to run a break to perfection.

[player_tooltip player_id='1612216' first='Carsen' last='Lovett'] | F | Puyallup | 2024

Lovett is another key player for Puyallup, being one of the more experienced guys on a young team. He showed up big for them and really looked improved from 3-point, hitting at least three or four against Annie Wright. He was making crisp passes, spotting cutters and showing some good poise for the Vikings.

Bennett Hedmen | G | Puyallup | 2026

Hedman didn't get a ton of run yesterday but he sure looked good when he was in there. He's a lanky freshman who came off the bench against Annie Wright ready to go. He caught his first pass, took two dribbles to the side, and rose up to drain a mid-range jumper. He looked to have a pretty good handle too and should be a deeper name to watch as the winter season approaches.

[player_tooltip player_id='2156619' first='Mason' last='Chmielewski'] | G | North Kitsap | 2024

This guy is a hard worker through and through. When North Kitsap had to press later in the game, he was able to get hands on multiple passes on-ball and create turnovers that led to immediate buckets. He's stout, quick, can handle the ball pretty well, and shows good awareness that lets him make plays around bigger and longer players.

[player_tooltip player_id='2021599' first='Key'Andre' last='White'] | F | Spanaway Lake | 2026

The freshman wing showed a ton of potential on the court even if the stat sheet didn't reflect it. He did a great job penetrating and getting inside without forcing bad shots over multiple defenders. He made the smart plays, worked within the team dynamic and was able to make a lot of little plays that helped the team flow. He's got a lot more in the tank than he showed but it looks like he's still figuring out his role on a talented Spanaway Lake team.

[player_tooltip player_id='2156624' first='Khalil' last='Graham'] | F | Spanaway Lake | 2024

I hadn't seen Graham before but he was a standout almost right away in his game against Rogers. He's a long wing that had his hands in a little bit of everything. He made well-timed blocks at the rim, made some good outlets up the court for quick buckets, showed good burst to the rim, and even displayed some range on the jumper. His activity and motor really stood out and he's a new name to watch in the 2024 class.

Top Skill Guys

[player_tooltip player_id='1587969' first='Gabriel' last='Walsh'] | G | Annie Wright | 2025

It only took two shots from this guy for me to see he's got the stroke. He wetted his first two attempts from deep and though I only remember seeing him take one more, he's definitely a shooter to watch who could get a lot of good looks in the Gators' offense.

Lamel Brim | F | Spanaway Lake | 2026

This guy was on the short side of minutes against Rogers but he did well when on the floor, running up and down in transition, attacking the glass, and making himself available with good cuts through the middle of the defense. He's a good-sized forward with plenty of time to keep growing and showed some good athleticism to boot.

[player_tooltip player_id='1450994' first='Dylan' last='Gilderhus'] | G | Rogers (Puyallup) | 2025

Gilderhus is another bursty scorer who can start his own runs and he did just that against Spanaway Lake, hitting a few shots from deep, and using some awesome speed with the ball to shoot through defenders in transition to get all the way to the hoop.
