Alexander has been an awesome addition to Emerald this winter. He’s a guy who can ignite runs with his ability to create turnovers and catch a heater from 3-point range. He showed that in a tough loss to O’Dea, hitting a few huge shots from behind the arc, and showing some great reactions defensively to steal inbounds passes or pick ball handlers and get quick buckets for the Jags. He’s a high-energy kid with the ability to hit shots in big moments and has shown a lot of fight this season.

Alexander shared point guard duties last season but comes into this year as the main showrunner for Spanaway. He did a great job today setting up teammates in various situations, finding runners in transition, squeezing passes high and low through multiple defenders, and using his eyes to shift the zone defense and then find guys over the top on the weak side. He was a first-team all-league performer last season and looks ready to go for another this winter.

Here’s another undersized point that just gets it out on the court. He plays with great tempo, vision, and poise for a kid his age. With some elite quickness and good decision-making, he can make a real impact as a pass-first guard who can also make some shots when it’s required. Spanaway Lake could be a team to watch this winter and Alexander will be a key piece for them going forward.
