I'm in Laurel, Washington once again to watch local high school teams play their beginning games of the summer league action. Here are some Saturday standouts.

[player_tooltip player_id='2844981' first='Spencer' last='Roberts'] - Anacortes

Spencer showcased his athleticism throughout the game, throwing down big dunks in transition. He has a complete offensive game, being able to get to his spots nicely and sink jumpers with ease using his length. He played great and is a player to watch in the NWC next season.

Tysen VanRooyen - LC

Tysen was a big standout for the Lyncs during Saturdays games. He was able to shoot the ball at a very high percentage, being ready to let it fly with confidence. He has a smooth mid-range shot, getting enough air to rise above opposing players. He played fantastic defense too, guarding opposing players who are taller but he made a big impact by poking out the ball and boxing out well.

Casen Cummings - Anacortes

Casen is a player who has improved a ton on the court, in a big way since last season. He is much stronger with the ball and boxes out well by being more physical. He stays strong in the paint and at the high post, making a difference in different ways on the court. He knocked down jumpers at a high level too, forcing defenders to stay on their feet and be ready for anything.

[player_tooltip player_id='3356721' first='Houston' last='Wills'] - Ferndale

Houston played great for the Golden Eagles, knocking down shots from all 3 levels and handling the ball well. He continues to get better with handling ball pressure and getting out of double-teams. He makes the extra pass on offense, keeping the ball moving and getting in the paint with ease. He's poised for a big season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2844985' first='Lucas' last='Roberts'] - Anacortes

Lucas also has a complete offensive game, being able to score from all 3 levels smoothly. He uses his length to his advantage in the paint to finish around the rim. He uses both hands well when attacking downhill, playing off two and staying strong with the ball. He was solid on the defensive side too, keeping his hands in the passing lanes to create turnovers.
